I work in an office and am wondering if they should close. There's no outside visitors, it's a big building over several floors and the majority of staff have been sent home to work so it's practically empty.
There's 10 of us left to receive the daily post and scan for colleagues working at home. We also process some payments that come in by post and answer customer calls. We can't do these things from home.
Our customers rely on our service but it is not deemed essential. If we weren't here doing this part, many colleagues couldn't work at home as we're sending them the work. I'm happy coming in. I travel by car, sit away from everyone and the building is cleaned daily. We've been given hand sanitizer and wipes.
I can't find anywhere that offices have been told to close but also I keep seeing essential travel for key workers only. Then it says work from home where possible but its not possible for me! I find the messages very confusing.
So anyone else have an office that's still opening? And how long do you reckon before we have to close?
