Is it a line? Even if it is, is it just the drugs?

Hiya,
Apologies for long post- bit of background....

Long time lurker here- long as in been ttc (and lurking) since coming off evil pill in January with no success and very irregular periods (if you can even call them that- usually just brown spotting! Tmi sorry!).

So this is my first post because as the year went on I had to ban myself from coming on here as combined with the current baby boom at work and amongst friends it was more than I could handle to keep reading about symptoms then imagining them and then being soooo disappointed constantly! Currently awaiting to go in for day 2-4 and day 21 bloods as consultant said she thinks I don't ovulate Sad!

But.... it is works Christmas do tomorrow and it's been a while since I've seen a period so I bought to make 100% sure I'm ok to drink I'll poas- fully expecting the usually lonely single line! But could anyone have a look at the pic and tell me what they see? My (crazy ever hopeful) eyes see a shadowy second line which I've never imagined before but I've always though when the day comes for a bfp it would be really obvious so I'm going with 'no keep dreaming' but thoughts would be appreciated!

Now the second conundrum is even if it might be a bfp how much can I accept it seeing as I have been taking day/ night nurse for the worst cold ever which specifically says not to take if you are going to be poas- as I really thought that I wouldn't until I remembered the whole Xmas do thing I ignored that as the cold was killing me slowly! Last taken at about 1pm yesterday!

So if anyone has managed to read that giant post...... Thoughts???

Is it a line? Even if it is, is it just the drugs?

Commenting on a really old post as I found it when Googling.. I got a positive HPT yesterday morning, day my period was due. I read this thread and it made me so hopeful that it wasn't due to the night nurse.. but took a saliva pregnancy test (available from Superdrug) which was negative and then my period started this morning.

Night nurse can cause false positive results.. so if you have been taking it I'd definitely recommend the saliva test from superdrug to be sure!

Magic moments! When I was pregnant with ds, we told my parents and my sister because I just couldn't have kept it in. I got pg (total shock) a couple of years ago and I didn't tell anyone until I mc...but then I told them so it was a pity we couldn't have shared the happy times too. I'm not saying tell the world but I don't see any harm sharing with people you might turn to if there's bad news.

Massive congratulations. News of a pregnancy is always good but it makes me really happy when it works out for someone who has struggled.

Mineallmine- he was so happy it was lovely! He practically begged me to let him tell someone though- took me ages to convince him to wait a bit to make sure all goes to plan! Bless him he wants to shout it from the rooftops! Thanks again everyone! Xx

Thanks mineallmine! Will do! I've just been in to wake him up and he's hungover so I'm in 2 minds to wait till later when he's not so rough! Haha! Thinking I might give him the pot and paperwork we've got for his SA appointment in January and say 'well you may aswell bin these' wait for his confused look/ question and then say something along the lines of 'well put it this way- your swimmers must be working for this to tell me this' and hand him my digi test!! Eeeek excited! Xx

I've been following since Friday with my fingers crossed for you. I struggled to get pregnant (DS was born through IUI and DD was adopted) so I totally understand your need to protect yourself from hope.

BUT, that's a line, my dear, a definite line! I'll keep watching here and hope upon hope that you have a happy and healthy nine months and a bonny baby at the end of it.

Come back and tell us how your husband reacts.

Well, that's a line, definitely a line Grin

Urine pregnancy test are not quantitative which means they do not measure how much pregnancy urine is in your urine once it's over the threshold of your test (it should tell you on your patient information leaflet? Usually 25 or 50umg) so how dark your line is does not mean anything at all.

You could try a different brand?
Or a digital one (although I don't trust their timing either).

Go see your GP - they can confirm pregnancy with a blood test.

In the meantime: cautiously optimistic congratulations ThanksSmile

Congrats. That's a line. I'm sure the drugs will have left system by now, even if they ever did make a difference?

Just done another- much clearer line today although still not as dark as the control?

Thoughts? Surely meds are out my system by now?! Line is stronger than yesterday so if it was meds causing it and I've took none since Thursday then it wouldn't be getting stronger would it? I'm so scared of getting excited incase I'm wrong! Haven't breathed a word to hubby yet- don't want to get him excited if it's nothing!!

Is it a line? Even if it is, is it just the drugs?
