Strange question I know but when out walking I get a burning sensation down both shins when I speed up my walking , now when I slow down it eases up again to a dull ache and within 10 mins of rest its gone like it was never there.
This happens everytime I'm walking at pace on hills or flat ground...
I have also had what feels like a thousand needles stabbing the back of my leg/calf when I first get in the shower, this again eases up within a minute or so. It doesn't happen all the time though.
Could they be connected only it's driving me crazy and I have no idea why this keeps happening.
Thanks.

Thank you, my GP is sending for an MRI scan of my spine he thinks it could be a disc on nerve problem.

Sounds like shin splints to me!

Any pain that’s happened over long time should get checked over. I’ve heard of a condition called “spin splints” which causes pain on exercise and stops after. Have you had your bloods checked for any kind of deficient? Lots of things can cause pins and needles stabbing pain. Take plunge and make GP appointment they may be able easily solve it. If not at least you know what you are dealing with.
