I am. Won’t stop me going - I refuse to bow to terrorists - but I can’t pretend i’m not worried.

Yes my little dd is going to Germany in December on a school exchange and is excited about the markets. Just saw yesterday that there were arrests all over Germany yesterday as there were plans to commemorate the Berlin attack by more in the same vein. But I grew up in NI through the worst times so I relativise.

Give @novemberblues a break - all little girls are beautiful and I don't for a moment think she meant being beautiful makes it sadder.

@caretakertonuns - people close to me were caught up in the two London life attacks - terrorism is very real.

I live near a major shopping mall and I always have my escape route planned if I go with the kids. Maybe I am crazy and like I said when starting the thread, I do not let it stop me doing things, but I am very aware of it.

Thank you op. Of course all the girls are beautiful, it was one picture of one girl who I was thinking about when writing that comment because - the girls parents are getting married to mark her death that was on the news this morning - I saw her face as I read the horrid remark above that we are all safe and there is nothing to worry about AT ALL.

It wouldn't put me off but I would probably be more aware surroundings and the layout of the place.

You are at risk wherever you go now,I think.

I am slightly concerned but I'm not going to let it put me off

Going to winter wonderland next week and very excited about going

Manchester here too.
Kids usually go with school but it's not been mentioned this year yet.
We will still go. There's barriers, bollards and armed police so it's as safe as it's going to get and I refuse to let the bastards win.

I have to say I'm with those saying that the threat of terrorism is massively trumped up any the press to spur hatred, and that we have much more to fear from bad drivers than terrorists. It's quite baffling to me to be so concerned about it to be honest, I almost never think about it and certainly don't spend my life wondering if I should go to x or y place on the basis that there might be an attack. And I live in a major city, was v nearby a terrorist attack earlier this year, and lost a friend in the Manchester attack. Maybe I'm just not a very anxious person?

Yes. It stopped me attending a big one last year. My logical mind says it’s ridiculous to avoid going, whilst the ‘keeping safe’ part screams at me to give it a miss.

Yes I must say I am a tad worried about it all! My child is going to see Ed Sheeran in June and I'm worried something may happen to her! :(

We don't have any Christmas markets near us and I would love one day to get to visit one.
I certainly wouldn't let those nutty fuckers stop me.

I wasn't, but am now. Also we cancelled our plans to go to a Christmas concert in London after this year's atrocities. Sad, unsafe times we live in.

I’m in Birmingham. Genuinely didn’t occur to me to be concerned about it. Having the market in town makes it busier but I don’t believe I’m more at risk there than in any busy place.

You have to be sensible and have your wits about you. Bollards wont stop someone in a suicide vest with a machine gun getting you. Just keep an eye on business and make sure you know escape routes and you should be fine. There is no erasing tje danger.

I'll be at the Manchester markets on Friday. I'm expecting security to be higher than normal but it hasn't put me off.
