Am planning to get DS a hudl for xmas - he loves minecraft and I have googled until my eyes fall out but I can't find anywhere on the internet that categorically tells me if you can play minecraft on a hudl. Please, Hudl owners, someone put me out of my misery?

Vicki I know I'm saying what everyone else is but, it should work.
The Hudl is Jellybean or Kitkat so is up to date enough and if you're trying to get through Play Store, that means you're trying to get the right version.
Do you have parental restrictions on? Minecraft might be a 7+ app. Or maybe you're not downloading over WiFi? It might be too large for mobile.
try messaging Mojang and Hudl, they might know of a 'thing' that stops it working.

You can pay once and have on different devices (I.e. all android or all Apple or all Amazon, can't transfer between those )... You just need to use the same account. So my children use my Google account and then they have access to all the apps I have previously bought through the Google Play Store.

Several people say yes, but when I try, Google Play says not compatible with your device (my daughter's hudl). Any suggestions?

Yes you can on a HUDL. My dd1 does happily.

Please could some lovely, lovely person tell me if I have to pay for it twice to down load it onto DD and DSs Hudls? Or is there a way that just paying for it means that you 'have' it and you can download it on different bits of hardware? Confused

Can anyone help?

Not sure about the connection question. I know you can access the google play store on any internet browser: play.google.com/store?hl=en You can browse it and even purchase apps (though make sure the correct Google account is signed in!) but I think they are delivered via wifi.

Thanks very much -no, due to me being a total Luddite they're not used to anything at the moment. Another stupid question - we don't have wifi at home (but will be getting it in the new year) will I be able to connect the Hudl to my desktop to download games for them in the meantime?

Yes, BUT it is the "pocket edition" which means you don't have all of the blocks and you can't do all of the things. It's good in its own right but if they've been used to the computer version, it doesn't compare.

Diplo yes absolutely.

ilovesmurfs · 26/11/2013 19:52

Yep anything from google play can be played on the hudl

Sorry to resurrect but can you also play games like angry birds and cut the rope? In fact can you do most of the games that you can do on other tablets? I'm a complete luddite but thinking of getting them for the DDs.

The full version can only be played on a proper PC I think all versions for tablets are pocket or lite ect.
