How to Draw Animals - massive hit, she has been drawing all day
The Lion Children - ditto, in spare time from drawing
Inkheart trilogy - yet to be tried but she liked the film so I think they will be a hit
A Dog so Small - she already had this one so we have to find a nice home for it

Oh and she also got the Doctor Who annual which she finished on Christmas day but has gone back to several times since - big Dr. Who fan!

DD (7) got a big set of Jacqueline Wilson books - she adores JW so was very pleased with this. She has just finished Bad Girls, which she loved and tonight started on The Illustrated Mum.

She also got a big set of David Walliams books. She read Ratburger and loved it, but I think she wants to finish her beloved Jacqueline Wilsons before reading the rest!

DD (11) got Sapphire Battersea and Emerald Star by Jacqueline Wilson. She devoured them both within the week.

Dd (11) got the new Roddy Doyle (Greyhound of a Girl) and It's kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini and one called The Humming Room by Ellen Potter. She also got some gift cards and bought herself the entire Flowers in the Attic series (totally unsuitable but they had a very attractive display of them in the teen section and I didn't object because I devoured them at her age ).

DS1 (8) is working his way through the first 10 Beast Quest (recommended on here...He loves them-THANKYOU!) and Big Nate and we're reading Mr. Stink aloud with DS2.

Dd (4) got 2 Ella Bella Ballerina books, my naughty little sister box set (sounds very mean, but we have a houseful of books already and get loads from the library)
DS(6) got Great Stories from British History, the Tank spotter's guide, How to make a universe with 92 ingredients and a random Muddy Waters book, because the boat in question has the same name as him. He's devoured the Great Stories book already ,but the others aren't getting a look in as he's buried deep in my old copy of Eagle of the Ninth, as christmas was when I finally had time to rootle throug my box of old books

Ah, its a 'quicklinks' book: it says in the description "With a pronunciation guide to Greek names on the Usborne Quicklinks website."

At the top of the main page hover over the 'Things to Do' tab, then click on the 'Visit Quicklinks Website' in the third section. Hope that helps. :)

Usborne book of Greek Myths- has impressed me by reading some of already (some of those Greek gods have impossible names to pronounce though, well for me!),

Ha ha bonk book is quality . DS (6) reads it all the time .

DD (4) got Elmer and Wilbur, Superworm, Pumpkin Soup and many more...

I got James Corden autobiography- v good! Janine Winterson "Why be happy when you could be normal", also excellent and lots more!

DD (6) got her first Jacqueline Wilson - Four Children and It. We started reading it together at bedtime straight away. Loving it so far, and then we'll move onto the original E Nesbit story Five Children and It later on.

DS (3) got a big encyclopaedia book of dinosaurs, which he can't get enough of. He loves it.

Ds (2) got heaps of books, favourites so far have been: Father Christmas needs a wee, Mog's christmas, and Pip and Posy and the Snowy Day. My favourite new discovery is one was given someone else: This is not my hat (by jon klassen - not sure if spelt name quite right though, book is in his room and he's asleep)
He also got a set of 16 peppa pig books from a relative which I have to read to him again and again and again...

Gave DSD (14) 7 books for Xmas - she is most excited about the hunger games trilogy, but is also pleased about the woman in black (also gave her the DVD) and 'annexed' which is a novel all about 'the boy who loved Anne Frank' (she read the diary a couple of years ago and was captivated).

Also gave her Witch Child by Celia Rees and Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce (she likes twilight) but I don't expect they'll get a look in until much later in the year!
