my 17 yr old son was severely anxious and depresses for many months last year. it actually started 2020. he had counselling then antidepressants. didnt get into school at all for last term of year 11 and missed all the exams. i was worried sick. but hes back in full time education, doing really well, making friends and on half dose meds now with a view to coming off them altogether in a few months. thought it would be nice to post something positive for those of you watching your kids suffer. i know he may have episodes again , but its good for him ( and me) to know that things can improve. good luck x .

That is good news. Smile

I have some similar. My anxious & depressed 17yo DD who missed all of y11 has been attending college since September and went back OK this week despite having had 3.5 weeks off. We also heard they are going to grant her an EHCP which I hope may bring some flexibility to make college less stressful to allow better attendance.

What do you think made the difference for your DS?

That's brilliant news. You must have been a great support to him which has aided his recovery. Wishing him all the best.
