Can you suggest a charity event for DD (12) and I?

I would like to get DD into supporting charities as she is at an age where she is becoming more aware of her impact on the world.

I relation to things we have interests in/already support: we used to do regular litter picking and have a 'grabber' (got a BP badge and did a local event too). I've also climbed Snowden for Alzheimers fairly recently. We support a local social kitchen by buying their meal sets and joining courses they run for baking etc. I have recently had a Pulmonary Embolism so would be happy to support something to do with that (been told I can be off thinners in 2 months so hopefully won't affect ability) and we are both relatively fit - although running is not something either of us enjoy at all!

We both like cycling and walking, have a dog who would like to come on anything active or a day event and live in SE although happy to drive up to 3hrs to somewhere or further for a longer dog friendly event.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

@CharitySomething are any of the local Hospices doing Midnight walks Summer?

SU2C are doing a sponsored dog walk this Aprill* or were you both looking for activities with others?
