Calorie-counting

Really don’t know how to manage increased exercise and calorie amount - please help!

As the title says - I had great success at losing weight using calorie counting about 6 years ago but have gradually regained a stone. I need to shift it but am really struggling compared to last time.
I now weightlift/do strength and conditioning 5 times a week and run 3 times a week. I’ve tried to use the calculator to take this into account.
but if I eat my calories, I am starving and physically need to eat more or feel awful. I focus on protein when I can (am vegetarian so tricky but get a fair amount in)
but I need to lose it. Any advice?!

What calories is it giving you?? It sounds like it must be set crazy low.

It isn’t really low - 1800 to lose a pound a week

That's low for the amount of exercise you're doing. Count the calories in what you feel you need to eat. Stick to that. Calorie counting isn't as simple as it's cracked up to be, and calculators don't know you.

What are you eating? 1800 calories can be a very large volume of food or very small... You say you're a veggie but do you eat a lot veg? When I'm trying to diet down on a cut I eat massive volumes of food so I don't feel miserable and hungry but the calorie count is low, cauliflower rice and all that good stuff, egg whites instead of whole eggs, fat free cottage cheese, fat free greek yoghurt, mountains of lettuce!

How long have you been tracking your calories and how much weight have you lost? Is your "starving" a sugar crash (mine normally is).
