Infant feeding

Thrush?

I'm feeding my 4 month old (every two hours) and my 2 year old (once or twice a day). Gradually over the course of yesterday pain developed in my left breast and is now constant. It is much worse during and immediately after feeding. It's a burning or shooting pain going from my nipple to my back. There's a couple of wee white dots on the nipple. I've had mastitis twice in the last 5 weeks. The last time with lots of red streaks. I didn't go to the doctor as it was too difficult over Christmas and I felt too ill (I know, I know, ridiculous) so I just fed and fed til I felt better.

What do we think?

How do you feel today? Hope you are on the mend, so tough with two little ones and under the weather yourself BrewCake

Just back from the doctor. He gave me flucanazole. Hope it works. Utterly excruciating.

When I had thrush with ds it felt like a burning sensation deep in my breast which was worse after feeds-it felt as though they were re-filling with boiling water, awful. Quick trip to the gp's sorted it out- I'm not sure if thrush will just get better.
