HI. Has anyone ever heard of a molar pregnancy? diagnosed last week, had d and c done. have to have weekly bloods to monitor hormone levels and may not be able to try for another baby for another year. am still in a bit of shock cos i really wanted this baby and then to be told there was never even a baby there.....very confused. no information forthcoming from hospital except they will be monitoring me!!! all info on net talking about cancerous cells and possible need for chemo at some stage....all very frightening....anyone had similar experience?

Hi Cuillan, all well here thanks!!!!
Nausea faded last week but back with a vengence this week...I suppose its a good sign.
I am now 12 weeks + 3 days..I have my scan today week, the 13th of march...cant wait for that I might feel more at ease after that!!!
Otherwise I cant complain....everything going well and DS is being a little gem...going through a very good and cute phase...long may it last!!!
How are things with you?? Hope all is well and that they are all behaving themselves!
I and DH are on a weeks holidays this week..so just taking things easy!!!
We didnt arrange to go away or anything cos we didnt know how i'd be feeling..just as well cos the nausea is bad enough and it's nice to be in the comfort of our own home at the mo. however it is lovely just the three of us having some quality time together!!
Love to you, talk soon, Tod xxxxxxxxx

yes, i had some 'molar characteristics' in my 1st pregnancy. 1 'normal' baby and 1 empty sac and really sky high hcg levels.
'Normal baby' died when he was 9 weeks tho, apparently unrelated to molar stuff

HI Cuillan,
I know how you feel, my DS is getting so big too and developing a little bit of attitude to go with...which is cute at the moment but I'm sure it won't be so cute as he gets older!!It's a pity they grow up so fast but it's also a joy to see them go through the different stages..........you have a good variety in your house Im sure there's never a dull moment!!!
All well here thanks, my sister guessed i was pregnant a few days before the scan..something to do with the fact that i was quieter than normal and looked a little green around the edges!!!! My mum and sis were nervous until I had the scan but are now delighted for us and it's great to have their support...
Hope you enjoy the half term and get plenty of those long awaited lie ins.....
Take Care...Talk soon.xxxxx

Hello TOD (and welcome zimbojules), I was just about to wish you well with your scan when i read your message !! WHAT ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT NEWS THAT ALL IS WELL . Again congratulations - you must feel you've had the weight of the world lifted off of you, & you definitely deserve to have had. Is'nt the relieve amazing !! Did you manage to keep it a secret from your mum & sister until after the scan??
On the home front my youngest is still growing at an exceptionally fast rate - it's scary to watch !! I just wish he would slow down . As for my middle one he's still prone to the odd tantrum , but slowly i think we are winning & lastly hurrah it's half term next week - time for a few lie ins, if the kids allow me !!
I really hope you start to feel better soon, i can remember how ghastly & draining it is.
I can't believe in 7 months time you'll be holding your little miracle !! I'm still so excited .
Please keep me updated with your progress Id love to hear. Take very good care of yourself & your little ones & hope to hear from you very soon. lots of love xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Tod - congrats that fab news! I was also diagnosed with a partial molar pregnancy last year, and had follow up at Charing X (fortunately no chemo).

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant, and really nervous about getting through the first 12 weeks. (i had the partial mole in Feb, then another m/c in June and only then was told that the feb m/c was a mole!).

what's your due date?

Unfortunately that has summed up my week, but a new week is about to begin & hopefully it will be a better one!! Is'nt it funny that we all look forward to feeling nauseous, nature has a weird sense of humour!! Plenty of rest & tlc is what i'd prescribe for you for the next 8 months - in an ideal world i know!! Hi Cuillan ,I am so glad you got to read this and thanks for all your kind words and best wishes!!!! Delighted to hear all is well in your house....they just grow up so fast!!!
I went to gp yesterday to have routine bloods and mentioned I had a little bit of spotting.....nothing like before and I feel very different....which I'm taking as a good sign! However she is sending me for a scan tomorrow to be on the safe side! My only worry is that I am not completed 6 weeks until saturday and I'm half afraid it'S too early to see anything.....to be honest i feel a little sick at the thought of it but fingers crossed that all is well.
joolsw....sorry to hear that you had to go through all that...its horrible....hopefully your follow up will go well and june is only around the corner...keep the chin up ,i know how hard it can be sometimes but it does get easier when you can seee light at the end of the tunnell! Keep in touch.

Hi TOD
Your news has made me feel 100% better!
I had missed m/c in July which was eventually diagnosed as molar in early Nov. Very frustrating that it took so long to diagnose - earlier and I could have been nearly sorted by now!
I had 2 massive bleeds and on the second one lost half my blood which promoted them to take me a bit more seriously! But had D&C at end of Nov and hormone levels right down now. My HCG level was never over 50 so I feel a bit fraudish as well!
Have to wait the 6 months as you did - but so pleased that you have conceived again and it gives me real hope. Fingers crossed so much for you and I hope you have a wonderful blessed pregnancy. I also hope I will be joining you around June time!
Take care
Julie
