Colour blind

Hi netmums, I've just signed up to in the hope of some guidance and advice for anyone who might be or previously has been in a similar situation.

My little boy just turned 3 years old, I believe he could be colour blind and I'm not sure what next steps we need to take if any...... I understand there's different levels of being colour blind but again I've done a google and am new to this and not sure how to navigate.

Does anyone know if he is a boardline age or can I get guidance at this stage? And if so where would I go?

He's very chatty, understands dialogue and conversations fully and can count to 20 for example, however when it comes to identifying colours he says they're all the same. 😥

Hi my 7yo is colourblind. I can’t remember how old he was when we began to notice but his grandfather is colourblind and I know it’s genetic so we kind of knew it was a possibility. Pretty sure you can get books that have a test, usually an orange/red circle with a green number ‘hidden’ in it. Try Googling it. When my son had is eye test in reception they told us to take him for an eye test, and there they do a colour test. I told the optician I thought he was colourblind and she confirmed it.

I then told his reception teacher because sometimes his maths questions during homeschool would require counting red apples on a green tree and he couldn’t see them as well. But other than that one time he has never had any issues at all.
