Hello,

Not due til October but love thinking of names - my husband is next to useless he just looks through the baby name book finding the silliest names known to man. Men!

Anyway here is my list (for now) - thoughts? Oh and I am Dutch (although lived here a long time now) so that explains some of my choices. I find boys names hard!!

Girls

Astrid
Saskia
Freya
Claudia
Heidi
Belle
Ingrid

Middle name = Verity

Boys

Dylan
Jude
Joel
Jacob
Isaac
Billy
Samuel
Leo
Caleb
Sebastian

Middle name = Jordan

Although some of these have had the 'no-no' from daddy - we'll see!

Astrid gets my vote (my lovely 10 year old daughter's name).
All the girls names are gorgeous that you have on your list.

I love Caleb from the boy's names.

Ahh just remembered the other boys names... Dexter. Which I have liked for a long time but fear it is a bit too trendy at the moment.

Astrid - I really like it, über chic. But not faddish.
Saskia - I think in England at least this name has gone to the chavs.
Freya - I like this as well, it's quite popular though. Personally I'd go for Astrid.

Dylan - It's a dog names imo.
Sebastian - Very nice.

LOVE Saskia - gorgeous. My DD2 is called Verity, so that's a good choice too!

Really like Jacob and Isaac - not keen on the rest, but then again, I'm useless with boys names!

Thanks all!!

Hmmm it's so hard and everybody likes/hates some names - can't please everyone...

Sat down with husband last night and he is just useless!!

We ended up with:

Astrid (which is my middle name)
Saskia
Freya

Dylan
Sebastian
and one other but I can't remember!!

My absolute favourite for a girl would be Claudia Verity - but he really doesn't like it. Silly man.

ALL gorgeous have 17 children!
Freya is a fave and i know a really cool fashionable beautiful Ingrid, Heidi might not be taken seriously as a business woman, i don't think Belle sounds right with Verity (imo).
Not keen on Jordan with the first 4 on your list, although i like all the names, Billy Jordan sounds cool and Samuel Jordan
Boys are definately harder!

I like names that are unusual, but not completely well... demented

I have a Ciaran, Brennan and a Brogan. For this one i really like Roan, Wynter, Verity, Mali and Marnie for girls and for boys i like Carson, Jethro, Fenton and Malaki.

LOL at me picking your FIL's name. But I do think there are nice, traditional and not much used names out there for boys, similar to Robert.

I had great difficulty naming my children something traditional with no associations as I had taught for many years. I still feel uncomfortable with my youngest son's middle name because it was chosen by dh but was also the name of a particularly weedy child in a school I taught in.
