No don't like it

I'm also biased as our ds is called Quentin. He's 9 and we've only had positive comments. He loves his name and especially the initial Q. Nicknames include Quinn or Quenny. And yes, we're in England (but not in London).

I think its horrible. But I live in Ireland where people would think you were mad if you called your baby that. Maybe in England people are more broad minded when it comes to names.

I think it's really awful. So bad it's almost comedic.

Sorry!

Mmmmmm I like it!

I like it and would agree that the associations these days (Quentin Blake, Quentin Tarantino) are all very positive. Also, the initial Q is very cool imo.

I immediately think of Quentin Blake too. Again that's a good thing as he is brilliant! We met him just before Christmas and he was lovely . It's a great name.

I'm biased as our ds2 is Quentin Smile, but he's most certainly not 'camp' (whatever you mean with that...Confused). I love it as do most people who meet him (unless they're all lying to us Grin).

It's very camp
Sorry

I like it. There's one in ds's class who's a lovely boy. Seems to be getting more popular.

For me it is and will always be Uncle Quentin from the Famous Five.

But that's just me Smile

I love the name Quentin - classic, cool but not overused.

Reminds me of Quentin Blake more than Quentin Tarantino. But neither are 'negative', are they?

My son is called Quentin and everybody loves his name. People my age think of it as an unusual name but people 20 years older always tell me they used to know a Quentin. An unusual name but will stand the test of time. Beware though people have trouble pronouncing it properly-- you will get Quintin a lot and Quenton!!!!

MrsMattie, you haven't met my ds yet - he is the most gorgeous, blue eyed, blond haired boy around (not that I'm biased, of course...)

Never ever heard of Crispin before - reminds me of crisp bread... not a name I could even imagine for a boy!

Report
MrsMattie · 13/05/2009 16:04

It's one of my absolute worst names (Crispin is up there, too). All the Quentins I have ever known have been skinny, unattractive tosspots. That may have coloured my view...

Quincy is cool@Winky

I think its cute.

It makes me think of a weedy, fey man who likes to wear fair isle sweaters. I like fair isle mind so it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I like Quincy better. Quincy Jones - super cool.

I knew a very handsome Quentin at Uni - he was universally known as 'Q'.

Knax, I much prefer Jonty to Quentin!
