I am nearly 14 weeks PG with #2, DS1 is called Jamie. Our girls name is Milly but we are really stuggling with a boys name! So far we have:

Christopher
Ben
Evan
...and I just saw 'Corin' on another thread and quite like that too!

What do you think? Any other boys names? We need help! Ta

Hi Ilikeyoursleeves it's LBOT, your due date twin from July 09

I love, love, love Evan! But I'm American and while it's not terribly common in the US, I feel like it's more acceptable there than it is here.

also like Ben, but agree with doing the formal Benjamin

And I like Christopher, but I think I prefer Christian

Christopher - ok but just so boring. Kit is very urban chic though, and despite myself I like it.

Ben - ok but so boring. Why not Gus or Greg or Saul or Dom or Guy? Lots of other 'snappy' one syllable strong names for boys. Donald/Don and Robert/Rob another two good ones that would make a nice change.

Evan - ok but prefer Ewan.

I like Ben / Benjamin. It's a good, solid name.

Not keen on the others.

Corin is awful! I like Corinne for a girl, though.

My fav is Christopher, I quite like Ben and Evan, not heard of Corin before- would it be a name that sounds nice with some accents but not so with others? (says she who's childs name begins with 'H' in a county where the letter has virtually disappeared from the alphabet ))

I like Ben to go with your other DC's. It will always be vaguely near the top of the popular list, but it is an all time classic that suits both man and boy. It's a lovely warm name - you could trust a man called Ben.

(cue lots of stories about shitbag exes called Ben!).

Hi like Evan best. I also like Corin, it's one of my top 5 but spelt Corinne as we are having a girl

I think the names Chris and Ben are too common (as in lots of them around!). But you should go for name you like really - you have to live with it!

Milly and Jo(seph)
Milly and Oscar
Milly and Miles !!!
Milly and Felix
Milly and Edward
Milly and William - no no Milly and Willy just won't work......!!

I must go and do the hoovering and stop playing....!!!

ps Milly is a lovely name!

I agree Kit is a great name, Christopher is boring and a bit dated though. What about Christian with Kit as a nn.

The others i'm not keen on.

I like Evan. Have known a Greek called Evan, so maybe not too Welsh!

Flum · 21/01/2009 22:28

All ok. Not mad on any of them though.

I like Kit as a shortening for Christopher, so leaning towards that. I used to know a lovely Kit.

our DD1 was going to be Corin if she was a boy so I love it

Christopher not to my taste and I know LOADS of Ben/Benjamins

Evan ok

what about Reuben nn Ben if you prefer?

wheesht · 21/01/2009 22:22

I like them all. That's not very helpful though is it?

Report
piscesmoon · 21/01/2009 22:17

I really like Christopher but it would be bound to be shortened.

I think Ben plus our surname might make him sound like a Munro LOL (as in Scottish mountain) because it starts with Mc

I swither about Evan, really like it buts it's Welsh (and we're not). Must be cos I was into the Lemonheads when I was younger (Evan Dando, what a dish)

Hate Christopher, I really don't know why I've just never liked it sorry.
I love Ben, would be one of my choices but my surname starts with Ben... so can't
Evan is a definite favourite of mine too.

Think I like Evan the best as it's a bit more unusual.

Thanks all, I'm liking Ben the most I think but not sure if we'd just do Ben or 'Benjamin'. Daniel is nice too. Only 5ish months to think about it LOL!

Of those 4 I prefer Ben, but would personally go for Benjamin on the birth certificate.

Christopher (I love that name)

Takver · 21/01/2009 17:52

I like all of them, if you want an unusual shortening to Christopher then we used to know a Kester which is lovely and I believe 17thC English (have to confess I know nothing about history, but it is in a Georgette Heyer book which means it must be true )

janeite · 21/01/2009 16:52

I really don't like Evan or Corin.

Ben is a sensible, solid, pleasant name but I like Benjamin even more; Christopher is fine and Kit is a lovely shortening, if you want one.
