Hello everyone :) trying to come up with an outdoorsy sounding boys name. Our surname is James.

So far we have the following
Lake, Harbor, Finch and North.

Any opinions on those? or other suggestions

Thanks :D

A boy at DS nursery is called lake. My DS is Luke. I don't know whether it's my ds name which causes the confusion but little Lake always gets called Luke and his parents spend their lives correcting people

Gunner?
Flint?

Some brilliant, proper 'outdoorsy' names here - so yes it will be a pity if you do call him Lake or Harbour and end up with a boy who sounds like a self-catering holiday camp rather than a rugged pioneer Grin

I think Polaris is more of a girl's name.

I was too lazy to look up the height, so I just hoped someone else would do the honours... Much obliged! Smile

I agree with bike. If you're serious about a somewhat unusual outdoorsy name, Munro James is a winner. By a looooooong shot. By a mile. By the height of a munro. Can't be other.

Red toothbrush I'm also really curious to know what your ds is called.

Loving this name thread, boys names are so hard and this thread is giving lots of good suggestions

to be fair I'd imagine Wolfie sounds stupid with anyone's surname.

Wolife. I've been on an eternal mission to get a MNer to use Wolfie! I LOVE that name! It sounds stupid with our surname though.

But do, please consider what is would be like to be a spotty shy 11 year old who hadn't had his growth spurt yet starting secondary school called Falcon.

Thegentlemonkey · 21/11/2014 19:26

I'd go for Falcon - outdoorsy & also the middle name of Captain Scott

Munro.

Please don't call him something silly. He'll have this name for 90 years. Very boring to have people commenting on it every single time he says it for 90 years.............
