Baby names

Can't stick to a decision. Which of these?

Thought I had settled on Esmée. But now I find myself thinking about Esmarelda which I really do not like.

Which of these do you like best? Already have a boy named Noah.

Esmée

Edith

Lola (love how it matches Noah, but is that a bit cheesey??)

Matilda (not sure it goes with the middle name we have chosen, but I really love the nn's Tilly and Mattie)

Be honest but kind! :)

As long as mcreadie isn't your surname then I think you are ok.

Edith/Edie is in the lead so far.
Anybody have Edie McCredie come to mind though? One thing that puts me off.

I love Edith, and really like Esme, but the pronunciations would wind me up at bit, and its a little cute for my taste.

Don't like Matilda or Lola.

I'm keeping tally here. Keep the votes coming!

I like Evie jumperoo but it is verrry popular in my area. That's why I like Edith as it gives us the nn Edie which sounds similar :)

That's my worry with Matilda Terror, it is ever-increasingly become more and more usual. Think I may be a year too late for that one.

Thank you for that info Spagetti, connotations and background of names are important to me. Dp love Luna but I'm not sure what all the lunatic/ full moon/ negative connotations.

I have a Lola Beth and a Matilda Rose. They seem to be coming more popular now though unfortunately! X

Edith.

Matilda is done to death and Esme is rapidly becoming the new Ellie (and sounds awful).

Edith. Just lovely.

Definitely Matilda. I have one and she gets Tilly/Tilda/Mattie from various family members - I love them all!

Originally this time round, I thought id struggle with a boys name, as I couldn't think of any! And if baby was a girl, it'd be easy as there are lots of names I like. But now I know baby is a she, I feel clueless, and names I love one week, I hate the next.

I'm sorry, but I really don't like Lola. Most people have long forgotten the showgirl Lola, but the Kinks' incarnation of a transvestite still pops up and in Eastern Europe it is a name associated with ladies of the the night. None of this matters, if you really like the name, but that's why I'd never use it.

Noah is a super name and would go far better with Esmee or Edith in my mind.

You are not alone Flo. We named DC1 in 10 seconds flat, so it was just as well he was a boy.

3 years later it took months of heated discussion to name dd.

Matilda.

Esmee has pronunciation issues which would drive me crazy.

Yes me again bikerunski!

This is turning out to be so hard.

When I was pregnant with dc1, I had Noah at the top of my boys list. Found out he was a boy, still loved Noah. OH loved Noah. He was Noah from then on. Always loved it, never considered anything else. Still love it now.

Gah!!

Don't like Noah and Lola together, sorry. Has all sorts of tongue twisting possibilities. Loah and Nola

I love Matilda! I used to think Esmee was really pretty, until Twilight ruinedit with "Renesmee"-shudders
