Brodie with an ie I think of Brodie from the Kate Atkinson books, with a Y I would think homeland though it did not occur to me until others said it. It is a good name I think

Call his soon to be sister Iona, that goes well with Brody.

feather that's exactly what I was going to say! I even put Brodie on my list after watching mall rats Smile

I like it. But if I were to use it, I'd use it as a girls name, named after my teen punk idol, Brody Amrmstrong!

Not to my taste, but it goes well with your other names.

I know of a 4YO girl Brodie.

Reminds me of Mallrats. Good film, that!

My DS is Brody so I obviously love it. Am Scottish but spelt it with a y on the end. I'm regularly complimented on his name and it just suits him so well. Struggling with what to call his soon to be here sister though! Shock

It's my son's name. There's a Brodie Castle about 60 miles away from me. I have heard of it being used for girls and boys, although I've only met one or two same named boys and no girls. Nice Scottish name.

It's a Scottish name.

I know 3 boys, all under 7 called this. I think it's a nice name.

I like it.
But Brodie and Riley make me think of the lightning seeds (not a bad thing).

First thought was Homeland too!

It's not a name I would choose but it's nice enough and goes with your other DCs names.

I like it, but I have a definite crush on Damien Lewis, who plays Sgt Brodie in Homeland.

I know a boy. It's nice I think!

I don't like it, sorry. Too American sounding, like Brody Jenner

kissmyshineymetalass · 30/10/2013 23:22

The only Brodie I've met was female

I know a few Scottish boys with this name, very nice.

BeeBawBabbity · 30/10/2013 22:47

I think it's a girl's name. I'm scottish. I do really like it though.

I know the best, kindest, handsomest guy ever called Brodie. He has the best soul of anyone I've ever known. I think it's a fantastic name!

(One teenager and the other in his early 40s, I think)
