I've looked around at all the new brand new shiny names out there, and dh and I just can decide on one. So we have decided to try and restore a name another MN poster doesn't want anymore. If DD1 had been a boy, she would have been Edward James. (DC3 is a boy, and has neither of these names.)

When we chose DD1's name, DH said we should call a second girl Tabitha Madison. (We have a second DD, and she is called something else entirely.)

I'm not sure if any of these are useful, but will say, I do love Sylvia, and sometimes wish I had called DD1 that.

I have two boys - if i had a girl she would have been Rose or Annie Rose, so I will donate those to you, along with Linnet which I liked but DH didn't.

Boys names that I wasn't allowed include: Teddy (Edward); Sammy (Samuel); Sorensen and Sebastian. Please give them a good home.

I have a friend called Agnes whose nickname has always been Nancy.

I can offer you Agnes - I loved the idea of having a cute little lamb - but was overruled because 'Aggie' was an ugly nick-name.

Also I knew an old lady who was called Elfrieda and was always known as by her family as Elf. Wouldn't that be sweet, to have a little Elf running around? Then she can use Frieda as her grown-up name for serious occasions.
