Bailey Bunting?

Considering the rhyme Baby Bunting (that every one comments on) and my other 2 have been and are still called baby x bunting. Is Baby Bailey Bunting too much? I LOVE the name! I'm considering reverting to my maden name just so I can use it

It's just awful, sorry. I think you would be causing your son embarrassment every time he had to give his name as an adult.

I love a bit of alliteration in names, and Bailey Bunting is indeed cute for a baby, but not sure how he'd cope as an adult!

With the surname Bunting you need quite a strong nboy's name, rather than a cute one, imo.

I really like it but I have found that since English isn't my first language there are names I like that seem to be a no-no for others because of the connotations - e.g. I've heard the phrase baby bunting but don't actually know the nursery rhyme.

Just ghastly. Bailey is one of those dreadful American surname-type names. You don't know whether you're dealing with a male, a female or a surname. And it sounds ridiculous with Bunting.

The only advantage is that, since it begins with B, there would be no trouble with spoonerisms. Avoid names beginning with C ... and M

It's Bye Baby Bunting. As in Hush a bye. Isn't it?

It does sound weird though. I would choose a different name, if I were you. You might love it, but he has to live with it all his life.

Bailey Bunting-very cute for a baby/todder but at 15/30/60?? Not so much and probably rather embarassing for ur DC! A lot of names sound great and very cutesy when u picture a baby/toddler but problem is that they don't stay that way and what sounds great now could sound ridiculous years down the line....Perhaps have Bailey as a middle name and something stronger and less cutesy for a first name,like James or Sebastian or whatever other names that u have/had on ur list :) xx

I like alliteration too but Bailey Bunting is not great. Bunting is a difficult sur name to work with. Sympathies. Is Bailey unisex/ I would have thought girl.

I agree you need a good strong name to go with Bunting. Bailey Bunting is a bit twee. I would say nothing that begins with a B or ends in a y sound.

Yes it's cute, but not for an adult. It would make me cringe when I heard it, never mind having to live with it.

I think any name beginning with B would have the same effect tbh. Nothing against Bailey as a name, but in the combination I just don't think it works. Sorry op.

I think olivertheoctopus has a point,though I think a name starting in B would be fine depending on what it was,but I'd definitely avoid names ending in Y and probably IE too just so the name doesn't have any chance of rhyming or sounding like Baby and also won't sound so cutesy as Bunting is a very soft surname due to the rhyme associated with it....Benjamin Bunting for example sounds great,but Louie Bunting not so much...xx

Maybe Bailey could be your LO's middle name? Don't forget about it just yet, just fiddle around until you find a name that 'clicks' with you and

nope, you aren't just naming a baby, you're naming a grown man who's CV will land on someone's desk. Far too cutsy.

Oh I'm not pregnant yet just thinking about number 3 and names. Actually I might be, I'm late and tests are negative on the tests, just waiting and seeing.
Bailey is a definite no, I just wanted to make sure before I ruled it out.

What about Zachary? Zach? Too American?

Oh dear. Do you not know what spoonerism means? It's when people swap the initial letters around (or other corresponding syllables). so you get Bie Cunting and Bie Munting

Kids do this a lot, play around with names.

Oops. No I had no idea what spoonerisms were. Well I guess I should just start preparing them for a life of torment :(
