Anneliesa, Alana and Annelie are beautiful. Also like Arianna but didn't Imogen of Ryan Giggs 'fame' call her baby that?

Thinking about galaxies - Andromeda!

I worked with a Greek girl called Androula. I'm not that sure about the name itself - it sounds like a galaxy? - but Androula was just brilliant: beautiful, intelligent, funny and nice. You know how it is; I like the name because I liked the person!

My mum had a friend called Apollonia (at least I think that's how you spell it.)
I always liked it but the lady in question hated it and called herself Lon instead.

Love Aurelia (Love actually?) and Alicia is my mum's name but be prepared for it to be mis-spelled forever. Also have a very dear friend called Adrienne, nick-name Ren, which I think is lovely.

I have one of the names on this thread (though not spelled the same), and having gone through life with it, and been laughed at, made fun of and had the piss taken over my name, would trade it in a heartbeat for something slightly less exotic and unsual.

The irony is that my mum ran my name past her group of friends (no MN in those days :o) and apparently the verdict was "you may love it but she'll hate you for it one day".
I certainly don't hate my lovely mum but I do wish she'd listened to her friends.

Saw Astera on another thread and thought it was lovely. A version of Esther.

Aroa, it's Spanish (or at least the woman I know is) and I think it means butterfly?
