One syllable girl's name?

angrytree · 18/01/2013 09:34

Help please finding a one-syllable girl's name to go with a three-syllable first name?

Sorry I don't want to give the first name away, but let's pretend it's Marilyn, since I think the same middle names would go (same intonation, 'vibe', ends in the same letter). Rose would work really well, but it's a bit popular at the mo, despite being a lovely name.

I think 2 syllable names such as Lucy, Carla, Maya, Rosa, Emma would work well with a 3 syllable surname eg. Lucy Robinson

Your name as a middle name would be nice I think. My dd has the same middle name as me.

Ah - yes, that would be a bit odd!

Do any of the female family names have a nice shortened version, but again, you'd want to avoid anyone with your suname as that would be odd too :)

What about your OH does his name have a nice female version?

There are quite a lot of short 2 syllable names that might still work.

I'd feel a bit weird about using my own name somehow! But it does work... hmmm.

Family maiden names are out, unfortunately, because the second middle name will be my surname, so I don't want her to have two surnames as middle names iyswim.

Also just realised I really can't use my name, since she would then have my full name as her middle names!

Jane is always a good middle name. If your name is good and sounds right then maybe that is the perfect option.
