I have a roman blind to remake
2 dresses to alter

And I need to work out a price & a name for the thing to cover a drink in the summer to keep the flies/wasps off

I've finished the two-in-one sweatshirt and for my standards it's come out pretty well. Plus I made a doughnut cushion with a piece of my stash and the innards of another abandoned cushion.
Feeling very thrifty!

Lovely items in this thread!

I have finished my suit complete with dress, for tomorrow, not the 14th!!

I have nearly made the £££ fabric dress and have started another dress!

I subscribed to the Collette magazine tonight, $6 a month, did it as a 6 month trial. Two free Collette pattern downloads a month, I quite like Collette patterns, seems like a bargain and I wanted the this month's shorts pattern.

Thank you I finished it (although it's a bit 80's) & I'm wearing; driving through torrential rain to an open air tea dance

If it makes you feel better I bought the material about 8 yrs ago! Procrastinating....

OMG I have an awful habit at starting sewing / craft projects and not getting them finished. I really need to write this list Blush . It includes x5 appliqued baby vests for friends' babies - although with good intentions, I had to go and buy 6-9 month vests the other week to restart the project as the babies will to too big for the original dinky ones I bought!

Oh and I have a half finished pair of PJ's from 2013. Grin

Will it be finished by the tea dance this afternoon? Not sure I have to do errands for my mum this morning Sad

I am justifying making a second dress for myself on the basis that we are going to a vintage tea dance tomorrow & I need 'samples' to show people?

Sounds like a fun summer!

Sewing is my "Putting off doing something more urgent but boring" activity and at the moment I have pinned together a too-short sweatshirt and a too-tight-around-the-upper-arms chiffon blouse to make a layered effect single top with the chiffon peeping out of the bottom, at the neck and at the sleeves. Nothing lost if it goes wrong as I wasn't wearing either of them.

This summer I'll have lots of curtains to sew (Grin) , some old kitchen seat cushions to cover and a huge quilted bedspread to cut into two singles. We're equipping a 5-bed student let on a minimum budget. Can't wait to get rid of some of my stash.

Wow that dress is gorgeous!
I'm frantically trying to finish my dad's Father's Day present.
...2 down 2 to go. Can you guess what they are?

Wow, that looks brilliant, it drapes beautifully! Was it horribly slidey to sew?

I have finished all the bridesmaids' bags, precisely to spec, and the bride now thinks they look like wrong even though they match her drawing to the mm, and has changed her mind about the whole idea. Taking a moment to give thanks I'm not a bridal seamstress - must be a nightmare job!

It is just a really lovely wool from Fox's Joffrey. I would call it crepe but I think they must be calling it flannel. It doesn't look special in the photo but it feels lovely and the drape is fabulous ... and I got two sew in labels Grin.

I sew with lovely fabrics generally too but I do believe that £35pm is the most I have spent yet!

I don't sew to save money though, I sew to get what I want. Like the mad idea of a tailored suit for next week, I have spent as much as I could have bought one in the Jaegar Outlet store (my usual place for suits) for but wanted to make one. Not sure if that was wise given my week this week but never mind!

CatherineDeB, I'd normally have a glass of wine before cutting into a scary fabric but it's probably not wise at £105! Would love to see a pic of your fabric!

Sometimes my kids ask me what the clothes I make would be worth if I sold them, and I say it's impossible to calculate - bespoke, handmade clothing using pure cotton/linen/cashmere/wool whatever? Whatever we pay for the fabrics, the finished items are worth so much more than something bought from a shop!

Last year I made one of my sons for xmas Bilbo's dressing gown from 'The Hobbit' - patchwork - and I used a fair few vintage, unusual fabrics from stash (cos we normally sew for living history so have a lot of weird stuff). Younger son couldn't get his head round the fact I spent a month making an item with a value we couldn't calculate, just to give it away to his brother!

Just finished a quilt and darning my jeans with my machine as I've worn a hole. Thinking about altering a dress pattern to get rid of the gapey arm holes and not quite mustering the enthusiasm.

I'm working on two projects. One is a themed blanket for one dc that's made up of various crochet squares - I've messed it up so probably going to bin it.

Also working on a blanket for the fun of it to see if I have the patience to make a large project. I don't. I'm a third through and I'm bored Grin

I've ordered some super chunky wool to make throws for Christmas presents and I'm glad I'm starting now as I know I'll get bored quickly!

Plan B is a bit flawed atm

May have to rethink..

The wedding stuff sounds lovely - I am hating a dress I started as it is not playing fair with me AT all!!

I may do something else and go back to it - DD has a dress she needs taking in, so I may do that instead or sit on my bum

Sure you have a plan B in mind! Looking fwd to the pics.

Am intermittently working on drawstring bags, very prettified ones, to be carried by a troop of bridesmaids. Keep getting interrupted by the child, not unreasonably wanting to play Grin Then need to make my dress for same wedding (as guest). Have made a trial run, and it's a merchant and mills pattern so fairly bombproof! After that only two flower girl dresses and a wedding quilt to do...do you think I could persuade them to postpone the wedding a bit?!

In lovely news, a friend has just shared that a longed for pregnancy is happening (yay!) so in due course there will be a gift to make there too.
