To fart in front of DH?

This is actually a serious question!

I usually just let rip if I need to, but I am going against all I previously thought about how to conduct a relationship - ie to preserve some mystery. I also do things like cut my toe-nails when DH is about.

Should I stop farting and toe-nail cutting when in DH's company?

(PS He farts too but less often )

I too get told to clean my arse out, it's not natural for a woman to smell like that

I must admit, DH is somewhat less toxic than when I first met him (although frequently still rank) - I put this down to making him eat a bio yoghurt every day (this helped some) and later him giving up beer (this helped quite a lot more).

And now I must go to bed

if they are evil and smelly, leave the room

if it's just CO2, it shouldn't be a big deal

I want to ask TheBurns how you will know in advance which type it will be?
Surely by the time you've let fly an evil one, it's too late?

Well if you have already let out four or five evil ones in the last 10 mins or so, you surely have to know the next one isn't going to smell of roses?

Well yeah, of course, but how about before the first fart of the evening??

i try not to (unsuccessfully) because DH never does, I mean its not natural i've only ever heard him about 5 times in 10 years! he just doesn't!

My family was always very minging open when it came to farts so has always been normalised in our lot

I couldn't bring myself to fart in front of DH on purpose! I'd be mortified! Although I'm not sure why as he does it and my teenage daughters don't care either. I will happily have a wee whilst chatting to DH - but no farting!

Blimey - if we both left the room to fart, we'd never see each other

DH finds them hilarious - mine or his. He really is a 12 year old trapped in a 36 year old's body

In our case I fart a lot, really loudly but not noxiously. Dh has the silent but violent toxic farts, but is such a gentleman that he will remove himself from the room if he feels one coming. No such scruples from me .

Dh now farts in his sleep. Big, sonorous trumps that all but lift the duvet! He's totally oblivious, and I'm left wide awake, hoping that it won't sneak out from under the duvet and ambush me!!

I don't know why. I just don't like farting in public or around my family.

I used to smoke (before DDs) and DH wouldn't let me do it in the house because he didn't like the smell. I told him it was a deal as long as he kept the smell of his farts away from me. That was 10 years ago and he still leaves the room to fart as do I.

I'm not generally prudish or uptight I just hate the smell and think it's a private thing.

Its just we are all so different and I find it amazing that after 10 years you have the self-restraint and respect to go out of the room to break wind!

We say we're going to'let the cat out' which is confusing now we've actually got a cat.

It's making me laugh seeing this written down as it makes us sound a bit odd but we're not - honest!

Dh and I have been together over 20 years and we still don't let rip! Not on purpose anyway.

This is going to sound really prudy but after 20 years together I have never heard DH fart and have never farted in front of him. Have never even had a wee in front of each other. I think you either do or you don't. Had a conversation with a friend who has recently met a new man and she believes that if you don't start doing this kind of thing at the beginning of a relationship then you probably won't thereafter.

Well i woke up feeling like i about to burst or float away i had so much wind this morning, but i couldnt let rip becuase ds1 had his girlfriend over to stay again (you may have seen my thread on this subject before)

Would it be bad to just let rip in front of her? it would just be wrong wouldnt it? she would tell her family how disgusting i am

But i cant keep holding it in

I agree flowertop, once you get past a certain time period it would be weird to start doing it. I'm glad that we are not the only odd couple.

When DH and I were newly courting, he took me by the shoulders and shook me saying 'I want you to fart in front of me'. I'd told him my previous boyfriend hated that kind of thing and wouldn't tolerate it. DH isn't weird btw, just hates uptight people and he farts a lot himself. I fart, burp, deficate and depilate in front of him, no problem. We're still deeply in love and are now in our 12th year together.
