To ask for ideas on how to stop hair loss 😣

I’ve recently lost half a stone and now underweight because of PTSD, slowly building back up my weight and trying to get my confidence back.
I’ve noticed however thah my hair is EVERYWHERE. On chairs that I’ve sat on, on my pillow, masses in the shower, everytime I run my hand through it a few stands come out in my hand
my hair is down to my waist, not had a cut since January (when the traumatic event occurred) so my partner has said it probably looks more than it is because of the length.
my hairs always shed a lot (DP sometimes tells me helpfully comes out where the sun don’t shine when he showers 😂) but this is really alarming me. I’m pretty sure there’s visible thinning on my scalp.
I’ve read we lose 100 hairs a day but I must be losing at least double that!
any help please 🙏🏼

Are you on hormonal birth control? My hair stopped coming out so much once I removed my mirena.

I went through similar and it was due to zinc deficiency. Might be worth having a blood test to make sure your not deficient in anything.

Biotin supplements
Its the trauma. A few months after severe stress or trauma you can lose hair. I have had this twice for different reasons. Both times has grown back as normal but it is heart breaking when it happens

Stress can make your hair fall out.
Have you had any bloods taken for thyroid or vitamin deficiencies/iron.

I've also had this twice, each time around 5 months after being very poorly on ICU with SEPSIS. I was also very underweight and suffering from malnourishment (I had major gastro issues, which left me susceptible to infection) and so was under a Nutrition Team (along with about a hundred other departments!) I spoke to a Nutrition Specialist about my hair loss, as it was quite distressing - I was losing handfuls each time I showered and like you, I felt I was leaving a trail everywhere I had sat. She put me on a multivitamin called Forceval, and told me it was a stress reaction to having been so unwell. It did calm down after around 2 months, but my hair was left noticeably thinner for quite a while. I ended up having it cut short, as when the new hair started to regrow, I had all these little sticky-up bits of hair, which made my usually poker straight hair look really messy.
I know it's really distressing, but it does sound like you're experiencing a similar stress reaction, which will likely resolve itself naturally, although if you are really concerned, mention it to your Dr.
