Posting for traffic here, I'm not sure if this is the right place but here we go!

I'm roughly 5 weeks pregnant, very early and very happy. Obviously because of covid I'm worrying abit more than normal.

I dont have a great relationship with my mum, we just aren't that close.

She and her partner think Covid is basically a cold, they don't believe in the vaccine, not getting the vaccine, they have been travelling throughout lockdown, one time to Europe, and up and down the country a few times, mixing multiple households.. you get the picture.

I'm worried about meeting up with her in the future. She's already asked to have my other 2 children for the day which I made up an excuse for.
She has a habit of making me sound like I'm over reacting, and because she's convinced Covid isn't 'that bad' she thinks everyone else is being daft and she's right.

Am I classed as high risk while pregnant? I've got my midwife app soon so will just clarify with it when I see her. I'm just trying to protect myself and my family.

Any help with Pregnancy during Covid would be great. Thank you.

You're classified as moderate risk, clinically venerable just because they're not sure about how it affects pregnant women and they're being cautious. I think what you do regarding your mum is up to you, but being pregnant and being in a pandemic is stressful enough so don't feel any pressure to see her if you don't feel comfortable.

Hopefully she has you and baby at her best interests and understands

Thank you, that's a relief to know.

Yes I think I will just say that to her, hopefully there's no much she can say to that Grin

Can you not just tell her you aren’t comfortable right now and need to remain careful for both you and your baby

No, you’re not classified as high risk and depending on your age group will be offered the vaccine fairly soon.
