...not on my street. I truly find it amazing that people who would be disgusted with drunk men urinating on their street(never mind the other!) or their garden wall think it's ok for their dog to do so. The whole length of our pavement is always covered in puddles of the stuff. That's before you get onto the poo, which even if they bother to pick up obviously there will still be bits of it on the pavement/grass/children's play area. My child and many others walk along the road every day, little kids fall over, they put there hands on the floor etc, their shoes come into the house. It's just truly unbelievable. If your dog is so great and lovely let it do that in your garden, a litter tray outside whatever. Not where other people are trying to enjoy themselves.

I appreciate that all animals have to go, it's just that it's so obvious and all over where a lot of children have to walk that frustrates me. If it's in the woods or a large park that's not so bad. And obviously you can't totally control where or when your dog needs the loo, and there is the territorial element, it's just when that is the purpose of a dog having a walk, or when no attempt is made to distract them. I think i will just never understand, really don't mean this to hugely offend anyone.

As a dog owner you cant always tell when your dog is going to do their business. When i take mine out they nearly always end up going, even though the back doo is constantly open for them to go as and when they please.

I can understand your frustration mumbleboo, but you cant expect dog owners to make thier dogs go before a walk. I mean how would you do it, as a dog owner?
You can however expect all dogs owners to clean up after thier dog, obviously not pee as it really isn't possible, but deffo poop a scoop any number 2's.

You could also apply this to cats who use other people gardens as toilets, why should non cat owners have to deal with that, but it would be hard to suggest that a cat owner follows their cat around all day cleaning up after it.

BTW I always poop a scoop my dogs mess, I have a roll of bags attached to the end of each lead, so I always have enough bags.

I once saw a lady walking a dog and the dog was wearing pants! She stopped to take the dogs pants down, it did a wee, and then she pulled them up again! Crazy!

Even if our dog has been in the garden he nearly always seems to keep one up the pipe ready for walkies. I think that as well as wee marking they like shitting off their properties. Its my responsibility to clear it up. Simple.

Erm... Dogs pee everywhere when you take them for a walk, just marking their territory. No way of stopping them that I know of.

But yes, dog shit on the street is bloody disgusting.. can't stand it when owners let their dogs crap on the pavement and then don't clear it up (if I have a plastic bag with me, I'll offer it to them and suggest they clear it up!)

Oh goodness, our male dog seems to pee every 5 yards, probably because some other male dog has peed there. Not doing it so much these days as he's now attached to the same lead as our female puppy who keeps pulling him off balance every time he cocks his leg .

If you swill the area with water/disinfectant it may stop the problem.
Once one dog has used a spot it is like an invitation for other dogs to do the dame. If you get rid of all traces then passing dogs won't feel the urge.

it's easier to train the dogs not to poo than to train the owners to scoop.

When I was a child we lived next to neighbours who had this huge alsation which used to jump over our fence, crap on our lawn and then jump back.

My Dad used to go out with a shovel twice a week and throw it all back over!

Yep - i agree. I hate it too. They think it is fine for the dog to crap anywhere except their own property.

There is a regular message left at the top of a lane that we all use to get to school to - i wish i could catch who does it, follow them home and then dump on their doorstep in return.

I don't have a dog myself but I do know that some boy dogs will mark every lamp post if they can!

It's the poo I have a problem with - fair enough if your dog does a poo it can't help it - but why don't people take a plastic bag out with them and pick it up? What really annoys me is that usually you can tell it's the same dog every day - same size and colour of poo in various stages of disintegration. Old people are the worst because in their day nobody picked it up so 'why should they?' BAH!!!

Poo aside, which obviously should be cleared up, if a dog is on a long walk and needs a wee there's not a lot you can do.

Dogs do also wee when they are marking their territory, so however many wees they do in the garden before going out, they still might do this, it's an instinct.

Freckle fair enough if generally you encourage your dog to go at home and then there is the occasional accident for want of a better word when you're in a public place. It's just the dog owners i know take their dog out for the toilet and a walk at the same time, and think it's fine.
