I have NC’d for this... thought it would be funny off the back of the “what class are you thread?”

Have you ever calculated your net worth?
How much is cash?

Having a quick think between properties and savings we are at about 650k ...55k is cash savings, another 50k is shares and investments

This thread only serves to make the wealthy feel even better about themselves and the not wealthy feel even worse. Not exactly festive is it.

If you count my student loan I'm in minus I expect.

It's not fun for those facing Christmas with nothing or with debts. I'm sure you didn't mean your post to sound braggy.
Tasteless thread.

I'm definitely in the negative - mortgage and student loan debt.

I'm probably worth minus numbers seeing as I live in my overdraft, own no property, have no investments and have pawned pretty much everything I have of value in the last 5 years.

Well I have a decent collection of tights, some haven’t even got ladders in yet. Oh and lots of 10p carrier bags, I’m sure they all up.

I genuinely don't care. We have enough money in the bank, no debt, good pensions and our mortgage is small.

I don't see how comparing an arbitrary figure could be classed as fun though. To some people having a thousand quid in the bank means that they are skint; for others the same amount would feel like a huge amount.

About £5k, I'd guess, including £2.5k cash (payday yesterday), an old car and whatever you'd get for the rest of my possessions - nothing new, nothing valuable. I don't own a house or any other investments.

Greysparkles · 24/12/2019 17:06

I have around minus 5k so all you lot can piss off

CareOfPunts · 24/12/2019 17:01

Probably only around £100k net. Not much is it! Would be more if we added on stuff like death in service from work.

Seriously though I inherited a holiday let business of 8 cottages so I'd probably be worth a few bob if I sold them all but as they're my bread and butter I'm not going to

We're at about £450-460k, and £400k of that is the house. I'm already getting my (paltry) pension, DP has no pension worth speaking of.

Yes, DH's last job wanted a crazy amount of info to check he wasnt in hidden debt that could make him bribable. It actually came to quite a lot with the house, cars, savings etc.

I keep track of things to help with financial planning. I’d say not very much of actual cash sitting about - less than 10% of the total pot but substantially more in pretty liquid investments.

I think i worked it out to about 950k

But that is us selling the house, shares and taking dh FULL pension...which i assume would be reduced by tax...so it would be if we pretend that we wouldn’t have to pay any tax

I think if we empty the childrens bank accounts we could break a mil

This is really not an AIBU... Perhaps try in the money matters forum?
