Would love to find mine again - it was about Liam Gallagher and I'm pretty sure it was in a thread about the Ariana Grande Manchester concert. A poster said he has been wearing that anorak since 1993 and he won't feel the benefit.

Can't really say why I love it so much but it still makes me laugh out loud and we often quote it as a family, like when teen ds wears his coat at the dinner table.

@CigarsofthePharoahs

Make a set of brass knuckles out of Haribo rings and then punch him in the face.

Love it!

I've just enjoyed this one from a current thread:

“Ooh that would never fill me up” ... well yes Karen there is an awful lot of you to fill

"Gather your strength, don't be drawn out as a movement, to be made equal in petty disputes such as this! Loose a foot to gain a yard, this is surely a war of attrition!"

By Shaboopy, none of it really made sense.

Your bar is so low only the slugs can get under it.

Not sure which thread this was from but I love it.

You have to make time for the important things in life Kath genuinely had me in tears but I think it might be one of those 'you had to be there' MN phrases. Although I'm so glad I was!

Unlike 'David Cameron's face looks like a freshy wanked cock' or the OP's Liam Gallagher observation which made me laugh out loud and they're new to me on this thread!

We use darked on now when DH brings in my oft forgotten washing.

But my favourite on this thread has to be:

"are you OK 'xyz'? Post once for yes, ten for no"

I'm in tears unable to post for ages as every time I went to copy and paste it I'd re read it and crack up again 😂

There's a bad interview thread where a lady said "and then I tripped over a potato" with no expalantion.... We quite often say

...
And then I tripped over a potato!!!!

I have read this thread over the last 3 days. Good job each day it was before my shower. Grin

Absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

It was posted today!

Love it. Used it already.

Definitely 'I'm Angela Hernandez'.

Also 'their dad fed them badger and rice ' and all the puns that were subsequently posted.

And I loved - 'I walked out of the interview and fell over a potato'.

The one where a new mum had read that when going out, her baby should have one more layer on than an adult. She realised one day before venturing out that she, the mother, was wearing two extra layers.
So she took her coat off Grin

"Is that you, Paul?" From the spray painted a pidgeon thread.

"I'm Angela Hernandez"

The woman who fell over a corpse at a crime scene from the same thread as AH.

I can't remember the thread but the poster who was having issues with an ebayer (IIRC) and got told "I hope your rabbit dies and you can't sell the hutch". That one pops into my head every now and then.

I think also on the Canadian thread, the OP rather rudely demanded to know if SGM had even been to Canada.

A couple that spring to mind as we use them in the family now are:

  • people posting about having a really dodgy stomach ... "I nearly shat my eyeballs out" or "I nearly shat myself inside out"

  • George Clarke described as having a head like a large Dutch cheese

Can’t remember much in the waybof specific lines but some threads just stay with you.

The cycling monkeys peeing in the bushes

Jesus in a Cabbage Van

Lemon Drizzle Cake

Your minge

The Rlderly Korean Lady

Trexing in Asda - just for the imagery

The snooty poster LOTM who came on thread (where the OP was asking advice on selling her modest hous) with an actual link to show off her country million pound mansion which was up for sale.

That super soaker thread is fantastic
And I have to say as a relatively new mumsnetter how much nicer posters were even when tearing their hair out

Report
DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 09/04/2019 13:53

Oh I love the supersoaker thread! And Maui. Grin Could someone explain "You're the carcass, though?"

Another absolutely brilliant one was the one about morton harket on celebrity mr & mrs. The original thread discusses how he's actually a bit of a knob, but someone who appeared to be a relative revived it as a zombie thread a few years later and replies, in drunken defence of Morton!
