AIBU?

to think making 2000 in two months should be doable?

This isn't a begging thread AT ALL and this isn't me. My friend is really struggling and needs to find £2000 by 17th October.
She has time during the day, but has to be flexible around picking kids up from school and dropping them off, currently not working, but she's skilled - she was a writer for magazines but she has been out of it for a while so has lost all her contacts.
She's given up in panic and is just despairing which I can totally understand [the 2000 needs to be on top of her normal incomings] and I want to help as I feel like it should be possible in this window.
But my brain has gone blank!

I thought maybe freelance writing jobs but these seem to be few and far between, especially if you no longer have the contacts.
Does anyone do any of those paid survey sites or anything like that?
I've also got her sorting out all the old kids clothes for ebaying and am going to go through her house with her at the weekend to see if there's anything else she can sell.
Obviously, there's getting a part time job, and she's applied for a few but the process seems quite drawn out so no guarantee on that front.

Just wondered if anyone has any better suggestions than mine?

If she's got a spare room or a drive renting them out. Babysitting for people.

I did matched betting for a year. Made 12k. I can assure you I'm not a bot Grin I signed up to profit accumulator and worked through all the daily deals they post. One by one, following the tutorials. It is NOT gambling - you place the bet and you lay it off elsewhere so there's no risk to your money. I stopped as you do indeed eventually get 'gubbed' by the bookies. Plus it took up several hours a day.

You have nothing to lose by looking at odds monkey or profit accumulator - PA is the best as it's just SO straightforward. And to reiterate YOU ARE NOT GAMBLING!

I'd also suggest selling in local sites. No fees involved as there is on eBay. Cleaning as well is another good one at £12/15 an hour and a more or less immediate start - just advertise for clients

If you're in a grammar school area, is she any good at verbal/non-verbal reasoning?

I've had a sudden flurry of requests to "tutor" friend's children before the 11+. I say tutor, but most of them can do it very well already, it's more that they concentrate better with me than at home!

Get her to send some pitches for corporate copywriting to companies in the area. Also, if she's an ex-mag journo is she in the no1 ladies group on Facebook? There's always requests for work on there and if she can do any real life stuff that pays well.

Matched betting.

There's a very long thread on Money Matters about it.

It does work & people can make serious money.

I use freelance writers if they are any good. It won’t be £2k in one month by any means but I’m not too stingy (unlike people per hour) either. Feel free to PM me.

Gumtree and Facebook selling groups, I made a grand doing this during maternity leave but it depends how much time and "stock" you have, other wise check to see if there are any local short term, quick start jobs going?

Yes matched betting is time consuming and you have to be organised to stay on top of it. There some easy offers and then it needs some work. You also need a reasonable start up fund if you want to make the money quickly (otherwise you can build the fund from your wins but necessarily earn money more slowly). Has the benefits outlined above. I gave up after the easy wins.
