Was going to take the kids until I read the reviews.

Movie has a theme of touching other's "private parts" against their will. Movie suggests a good way of handling it when someone is fondling your privates against your will is to go to a "zen place" in your mind

Took the kids to see it yesterday (hadn’t even heard of the film never mind anything about those scenes) and I can guarantee you they didn’t cut them, I’m not easily shocked but certainly was at that!

I can't understand who thought this a good idea in a kids film. Especially the zen place thing, WTAF.

I mean, how many people did this have to get past to be made into the actual film, and not ONE of them thought 'hang on a minute, this is a bit of a fucked up message to send to kids'.

I will NOT be taking mine to see this.

Eliza they have cut the scenes in various other countries but NOT U.K. I have been corresponding with the Bristish board of film classification over this today. There repeated responses to me have been so ignorant it makes you question who they have making these decisions to be honest. Happy to post some direct quotes from emails if people are interested.

I read about this a while ago and thought it had stopped being shown. It sounds like it is sending a dangerous message, normalising being inappropriately touched and being forced to endure things one feels uncomfortable with. Who writes this stuff and then who passes it for production and showing? It's disturbing!

I'm interested in knowing if anyone has seen it. I've read the article, didn't see the film, mainly because I wasn't interested. The outrage (undertandable) has been immense, but no one has said if they've seen it, and how the scene plays out. It's wrong regardless, but has anyone chosen to go regardless?

It beggars belief really. I think a lot of parents thought the scenes had been cut and were really unhappy when they realised during the film they hadn’t.

there was uproar in Aus about this and the film was cut without these scenes prior to cinema release.

Why on earth did they think the same thinking should not apply globally?

The UK will still show the original version as that’s been reviewed and passed by the BBFC 👎🏼

It’s being recut so that the scenes aren’t in it anymore, apparently. It’s received mostly bad reviews anyway so I don’t know if this’ll change things.

I have been showing and breeding dogs for twenty years, so I'm pretty much immune to the grabbing of dog privates, and went to read the review thinking it was going to be overly uptight parents complaining about something that is standard practice at a dog show, but even I think it sounds disgusting. The premise of the show sounds fun, a bit of a twist on the Miss Congeniality movie, and there is plenty to poke fun at with dog shows, but this sounds genuinely awful and really inappropriate. .

It’s already doing pretty badly ratings-wise, not just because of this. Interestingly it’s directed by the same guy who did the live-action Scooby-Doo films ages ago which also did badly reviews-wise.
