To be pissed off with the mainstreaming of wigs. *Trivial*

I know this is a very pathetic and trivial AIBU, but bloody hell, it seems that wigs have taken over hair extensions!
I haven't been watching Strictly much this year, so I saw a bit on catch up tonight. To suddenly see Tess and Claudia's heads weighed down with ridiculous wigs that actually make the professional dancers' extensions look thin....
Am I the only person who thinks this looks awful? Will this trend end? If not, should I get extensions or an actual wig ffs?

It's usually women isn't it - I don't think all this stuff is great for women or girls TBH especially thick ones like me who don't realise it's not all natural!

There was a link somewhere on MN a few months ago of a service available in some UK cities for women with severe hair loss. It was very expensive but featured a link to their services. Does anyone remember it? They actually pulledany exsisting hair through a hair cap and the hair piece remained on the persons head all the time it was a wig but fitted to the head in a unique way.

Yup my mum wore wigs all the time in the late 60's early 70's...my christening photos are a hoot to look at 😂

If I wore a wig,or even had 'fillers' I wouldn't be able to get through the door! . I shouldn't complain though.

I'm Sorry for restarting this thread, but blimey I’m watching Line of Duty (crap btw, don’t bother), but Vicky McClure (?) has the classic Demi Moore cut from Ghost.
But Demi’s looks lovely and natural, whereas poor Vicky looks like her head is being weighed down by a heavy Lego-head helmet of hair. It doesn’t look right.

When will this madness stop?!
