I used to order on a Saturday and things would be delivered on Sunday.

My last few orders have been delivered in a couple of days... I ordered yesterday and thing are being delivered on Monday.

AIBU or is Prime less valuable now; I might as well use the free delivery---- option?! 📦

Both of my outstanding deliveries from yesterday are out for delivery by Royal Mail and DPD today.

Live chat really is crap. They always say it'll definitely be with you when it should be. I had a next day delivery failure last month and spoke to three different people and was told three different things - one even said that he could see that the item was coming from Canada so that was why it hadn't arrived.

Just been on Live Chat to Amazon chasing up my late parcel. I've to expect it today, but they've been saying that since Saturday, so not really any further forward. However, they've added an extra month onto my Prime account. I know they're busy, but an advertised service should be fulfilled.

I agree- delivery has been awful for a few weeks now. Delivery dates are often changed after I’ve checked out, and some just don’t arrive for a couple of days after they were supposed to. I run a business and rely on some things to arrive the next day. Not happy.

We haven't got an Amazon Locker near to us but can collect at our local Post Office. I've used it quite a few times but it's a single counter within a convenience store, there's always a queue and I've never yet picked up a parcel where the system will scan the barcode, something that the staff don't seem able to deal with so they just keep scanning again and again in the hope I think that it'll eventually work (it never does).

Exact same thing happened last year too, from black Friday until after Christmas prime deliveries were often a couple of days, I messaged them about it and they said busy time of year.... I pointed out that is known well in advance and doesn't change the fact that I pay extra for a service they were not providing, got me nowhere, no free month or even an apology. It's still better than nothing and worth it for the rest of the year but definitely annoying. 3 most recent ordered have all had prime next to them but been 2, 2 and 3 day deliveries.

On a side note I almost exclusively use the Amazon lockers now so I don't need to worry about not being home or late night deliveries etc, really recommend them if you have one close to you, mine is in the supermarket down the road thats also on my route to/from work so perfect for me

Yeah the delivering in the evening isn’t amazing for me at the moment with DS in bed at 6.30, DH away working and me wanting to get my knackered body into bed at 7 (early pregnancy is a killer!) I had to haul myself downstairs at 8.30pm to get the door, the horror! But I cannot function without Amazon. This is how you sleepwalk into dystopian futures with your life controlled by corporations I know but I neeeeed them.

Amazon Prime is a life saver, I won't hear a bad word against it.

Although the post 9pm delivery last week did test my patience a bit!

To be fair though, it doesn't feel completely right to complain about wanting everything immediately and not getting it. I know that it's a service that we pay for, but every time I read about the conditions that their staff work in to provide that service I feel guilty for contributing to demand. I do try to buy from eBay or direct from sellers where I can but it's just so much more convenient...

Buglife contact them whenever they fail to deliver on time as they usual credit your account with one month's free Prime.

If you have a Kindle or Fire Stick there’s LOADS of stuff. The music service is similar to Paid Spotify with access to albums and curated song lists and music genre ‘stations’. Kindle Unlimited or Prime Books give access to free books like an e library service. Also magazines.

buglife I have Amazon Prime but didn't know there was any music or books with it - will have to investigate!

And since I order a huge amount of stuff from them all free delivery, and watch their stuff on fire stick, listen to Amazon Music playlists all day at home and entertain my DS with Amazon Kids on my tablet as well as reading tons of books for free on Prime Unlimited, I’m not too fussed with a tiny glitch in service at this time of year... I get a shit ton out of my Prime Subscription.

I’ve never had a problem before but last week stuff took 3 days to come and this week I ordered 4 pillows on Prime on Saturday and they came today rather than Sunday. Not too worried about that! I assume any issues this week will be due to the no doubt astonishing volume of orders they must have had since Black Friday.

I haven't noticed many things that aren't available for next day and the orders that are now with Royal Mail 100 miles away were in fact available for same day delivery when I ordered them yesterday morning. I wasn't sure if we'd be home by 6pm though (we were!!) so I selected next day delivery instead, thinking that Amazon Logistics would deliver them all in one go.

My orders always arrive when they say they will, but I've noticed that in the last couple of weeks Prime delivery is no longer the next day. It's usually at least 2 days. I ordered an item on Saturday and it's scheduled to arrive on Weds - 5 days.

Until a couple of weeks ago items normally arrived the next day and in many cases on the same day if I ordered early enough (I'm in London). Next day delivery is the main reason I have Prime, so may not renew it if it doesn't go back to normal after Christmas.

Agree with what Sheitgeist said, and I have emails stating that my four items will arrive today. Two were checked in at the Royal Mail distribution centre in Warrington at 2.09pm, that's around 100 miles away from me. Another has been on it's way to DPD's Smethwick depot since I first checked the tracker at 6.30am.
There's only one out of the four items which is actually out for delivery on the day they guaranteed.

Report
Sheitgeist · 04/12/2017 15:05

Chap the point is that they are not delivering the service they promised, even if you consider it to be a good price. They can't offer a paid service then not provide it just because it's busy. Christmas happens every year so should be factored in to their planning and pricing, or at least allowed for in their product description.
Calling something "one day delivery" when it takes 3-4 days is really not on.

"Country's most popular retailer in not delivering quite as quickly at busiest time of year shocker"

You're paying less than £7 a month for as many 'no extra cost' deliveries as you want as well as having a vast library of video content at your disposal but their service is going downhill because it might take a little longer to get your mitts on the goods sometimes? Sheesh :-)

Maybe we should go back to the days where you paid P&P on absolutely everything and could easily wait up to 4 weeks for a package to be delivered, all without any notification on when said delivery might happen?

I'm sorry if I sound like a corporate apologist but I think might might just be expecting a little too much at times.

Even though I live out in the sticks, Prime had always been great here, 98% of the time it's next day delivery, very occasionally the day after.
I ordered something last Saturday on Prime. The delivery is still called "one day delivery" but it then said after "Get it on Wednesday" . Even the super speedy delivery that you can pay extra for would only be Wednesday (before 1pm though!).
We spent a fortune in Amazon last Christmas, all things arriving quickly; may have to rethink that this year!

I ordered five items on Friday night - one turned up the following day, two on the Sunday and two this morning - with three different carriers (Yodel, DPD and Hermes).

I've never had an issue with them so i suspect some of it must be area-dependent.

OooohHorlicks · 04/12/2017 12:45

It has been like this for some time. I've commented on this before. You notice already when you try and filter your search results by Prime and still the earliest delivery date is 2 days away. My cynical prediction is that they are planning to introduce a top tier level of Amazon Prime Prime which you can then pay extra extra money for...

Report
MadisonAvenue · 04/12/2017 12:32

I've been waiting around 25 minutes now for a call from them - I selected the immediate call option and it stated that it would be "in about a minute". Live chat as usual is crap.

My Amazon prime order was placed on Friday for Saturday delivery. Saturday morning I received an email saying it would arrive but possibly a bit later in the evening because it was sent to the wrong carrier facility. I'm in Scotland and it went via Swansea and then Manchester. Update on Saturday evening saying it had arrived at the Dundee depot. Where it's still fucking sitting! Amazon have kindly informed me that it 'should' come tomorrow, but if it hasn't arrived by Wednesday, they'll look into it for me. Just renewed my Prime this month. Shouldn't have bothered my arse.

I placed an order for four items yesterday via Prime and the confirmation stated that all would be delivered today.

One is coming via Amazon Logistics
One is coming by DPD
Two are coming by Royal Mail - the tracking number supplied is invalid and the delivery date on Amazon has now changed from a guarantee of today to an estimate of any time between today and Thursday. There was no notification sent, I just happened to check the order on the website to make sure I had the correct tracking number and saw it then.

I ordered something at lunchtime today and it’s not coming til Friday. As I said in a previous post, there’s an Amazon warhouse about 4 streets away. Not Impressed.
