How long does it take to get council house keys?

Hello last Wednesday I had a viewing of a house.
Rang me on Thursday to offer me it.
Today the housing officer is coming to my current house to look around and I've got my passport/birth certificate/driving licence to show her.
What happens next?
It's a week today since viewing.
Anyone have any experience with this?

I think it depends on whether they need to do any work on the house. Mine was quite quick, I think about 3 weeks from when I viewed it.

If only there was council house officer with specific knowledge of you and the house coming to see you today that you could ask....

I got the keys when they came to the house I was living in at the time. That was over 20 years ago though.

Is this a council house Stealth boast? Ask the council ffs, it could have loads of work which will take months or it could be ready to go in a week how would we know?

I had viewing a council flat and the council officer told me if you accept this flat, I’m going to send you an appointment to collect the flat keys, I would like to know how long will it take to receive the keys????
