To send DD to nursery in damp knickers today?

They were damp because she got them off the airer not because she had weed in them - and only slightly damp. She is 2 and Boots pants weren't good enough, she had to have Dora ones - so went running off and found them on the airer. They were only a little bit damp and at 7.05 this morning, DH away, me full of cold, I couldn't be bothered to argue.

My Mum would be at me ( she is always going on at me for not wearing tights with my jeans when I am wearing ballet shoes) and my MIL would have run out to the garage and given them a quick go in the tumble dryer.

have just read all the posts and realised that chin cough is not an illness particular to just my family, is it airborn?!!!

a) Even dh would've noticed racy ones - plain white, probably Tesco - so, to be fair, not too different to her own, apart from the size.
b)Size 10, not enormous, but significantly bigger than a 3-year-old's.
Now dd is older and the same size as me we're constantly bickering over socks - not pants though - she was obviously scarred for life by that early experience

My black pants have ended up in DS's drawer and white ones in DD's but never been worn. I really can't imagine DD letting that happen - if she is so picky about which ones she wants that she will even wear damp ones rather than any of the 20 clean, dry pairs in her drawer she is not going to fall for a pair of mine...

Was my dh being unreasonable when he sent dd, then aged 3, to nursery in MY knickers? I'd gone off to work early, he'd dressed her..I noticed when I picked her up later that she seemed uncomfortable and fiddling with her undies all the time. Had to go in the next day and explain to the staff. Dd is 14 now and we still laugh about it (at dh's expense).

Enig dryer is in the garage accessed only by going outside, doing that would have thrown the routine and made us all late. I virtually never use the dryer and there were at least 20 pairs of knickers in her drawer.

Tights because you can't wear socks with ballet shoes in my Mum's opinion and you can't have bare feet at this time of year. So tights or pop socks I suppose....

She will probably get chin cough. This is a mythical ailment, only heard of by my Mum (and her Mum before her, presumably) and you get it from sitting on damp steps/walls/the ground and letting your feet get wet. So I bet you get it from damp knickers too

See at that time with a cold I am not as bright as you lot! DD even has her own hairdryer plugged in in her bedroom so it would have been no trouble. She knew they were damp but was trying to pretend in that stubborn 2yo type way that they weren't. And yes cathcart - if it was me I wouldn't have thought twice.

DS does the same. "I don't mind being cold, mummy" when he wants to play out in a football shirt and no coat.

I wouldn't put damp pants on a child because I wouldn't wear damp pants myself unless it was a glorious summer's day!

don't worry about it. They'll be dry by now, and she's happy with Dora (here we can only wear bob the builder or dinosaurs...).

I don't get the tights thing - why on earth would you wear tights under jeans??

No. They'll have dried with her body heat within minutes. She'll be fine.
