I've woken up this morning to see dozens of black ants in my kitchen and on the floor!

I'm 26 weeks pregnant! Please help me get rid of them!

Ants aren't dirty so relax.

Fuck the sprays because you're pregnant.

See where they're coming and going. Clean the area of food. Wash floors and shelves.

Put cotton wool pads in screw top jar lids. Mix borax, sugar and water. Soak the pads. Lay the jar lids on the paths that follow. There won't be many.

Ants will crawl in, feast, go way and explode.

You'll need to moisten the pads as they dry. Cheap and cheerful. It's probably what's in Nippon.

Find out where they are coming in and put a trail of lemon juice there.Block the hole with some filler.

Spray the ones that are already in and stay out of the room until the spray has gone off.

Diatomaceous earth is cheaper than ant powder and can be used for all kinds of things, but buy food grade. People also take it as a digestive aid but it is good for destroying all insects. I wouldn't use anything outdoors though as it will kill bees, ladybirds etc. too.

I'm a bit wuss, and don't like to kill a whole nest, so I get the crappy ant powder and put it all around the edges of the room where they are - that sends them back off outside instead of in the house. But nippon is quicker if you don't mind the ant death. Also, if you ever see a single ant in your house, kill it, and it puts off the others (honestly, don't laugh!). If it carries on and finds food, it goes back to the nest and then you have ant party happening in your house.

Nippon ant killer, it's on amazon I think. The ants take the poison back to the nest.

You need to see where they're coming from and spray the nest (sorry ants). They won't cause any harm to your pregnancy.
