Erm... so I absolutely wasn't warming the Nutella up by popping it upside down on the toaster...

I now how a giant lump of nutulla inside the toaster. It's a dualit. I've fucked it, haven't I?

have since eaten the toast and nutulla, no actual evidence it was meWink----

Nope, my kitchen is just really really cold

Phew! I thought I was going to have to tell you off Grin

What about using a hot knife so you don't have to warm up the whole thing?
I heat a knife on the gas hob (obv no good if you don't have one!) to spread hard butter in the winter.

Dualit toasters are easily fixed with spare bits from Dualit customer service. Ours is at least 20 yrs old and got new elements last year. Bargainous toaster really. My husband loves ours but he can have it if we separate because no pop-up feature and burnt toast is probably the reason we will separate.

At least if I am ever unfortunate enough to get Nutella in my dualit, I can use the wonderful tips on this thread Grin.

I'm with your DH, I love my dualit toaster. It's 17 years old and it's the only thing I would have been genuinely upset about my XH taking out of the house after we separated Blush.

I think you can still buy pop tarts you know Wink

I already said to him "how much? For a toaster?!" When he bought it, does that count Grin

Lucky your husband makes me feel better.

Nutella doesn't get melty when it's almost solid from the cold kitchen, it just rips your toast apart. Nothing sadder than mutilated toast with a solid lump of chocolate spread on one corner

You are aware that spreading it on hot toast will make it melty?

My husband got fish fingers stuck in the toaster last week. Blew the electric when trying to use it the next day.

Why did it need warming in the first place?
Do you keep it in the fridge? Shock

yeah microwave next time but make sure no metal foil still around rim first...

blue2014 · 31/03/2017 17:21

Update: almost all of it fell straight through to the crumb tray (maybe it was worth the extra £140 HmmConfused) and I seem to have successfully burnt the rest off Grin

extra thick bit of bread and see if it toasts on?..you might have invented a new self-garnishing appliance

Simply place the topping of your choice upside down on your toaster, and three minutes later install your bread...moments will pass and your toast will soon be lavishly adorned with your heart's desire...

Tip the toaster upside down, turn it on and wait for it to come out the way it went in. Well it's how you got yourself into this mess Grin

OP you can microwave nutella for 10 seconds at a time to achieve the same meltyness with no toaster accidents!

Freshprincess · 31/03/2017 13:50

I'd just keep switching it on till it either burnt off or set the house on fire.
For future reference, stand the jar the right way up on top of the toaster whilst the bread is toasting. Or warm it on top of the radiator whilst bread is toasting.

puddingpen that's just what I thought...pop it down and burn it off, then give it a good shake upside down and hope the crunchy/burnt chocolate falls out. Not sure if that's a good idea or actually dangerous but is probably what I would try!
