AIBU?

To feel slightly terrified?

I'm going travelling in 2 days.

I want to be looking forward to it and excited. I am, but just not as much as I thought I would be or want to be.

I'm travelling alone for the first time and am slightly terrified about having to completely rely on myself - something I haven't really done before as all the travelling I've done before has been with someone else.

So many worries and what ifs are running through my head. I wouldn't have thought that I'm a worrier normally but for some reason this trip has just brought up so many things. What if I don't make any friends and am sad and lonely the whole trip? What if I get robbed or something worse? What if I run out of money? What if I miss my flight/bus/train/etc? What if I miss everyone back home so much I don't enjoy my trip? Arrrrggg!

Aibu to be scared or should I just get over myself and look forward to it?

You're all right but I'm packing my bag and I feel sick Sad

I know it's probably normal and just fear of the unknown but I can't stop myself!

Pressed send too soon. But I had all those fears and decided I didn't fancy it before I went, you will def enjoy it once you go. And if you don't that's ok too, you've given it a go.

It's normal! I find before a trip I always suddenly feel like I just can't be bothered to go and it's all a hassle and I just don't fancy it any more - I think this is just fear manifesting itself in a different way. I've always had an amazing time once I've gone! I went trekking in Iceland a few years ago with an organised group, I didn't know anyone. But it was amazing! Bu

Yanbu

My dad always said - "if you're about to jump out of a plane and you're not scared, there's something wrong with you" - i apply this to my life in general when i have done something way out of my comfort zone.

You're going on an adventure!

This is normal, and until you get to your first destination and settled in you will be slightly anxious. But once you are ther all this disappears, you'll make a new best friend in every location, see some amazing things and have awesome adventures.

Don't worry about missing flights etc - those kind of things are easily sorted out. Make sure you don't put yourself in any silly situations and you will be perfectly fine!!!

Have fun, I'm jealous!!!
