AIBU?

To ask for your help with my bikini line?!

Posting here for traffic, time is not on my side! And also (obviously) name changed.....
In an attempt to save time I have waxed my own bikini line with the dire-est of consequences, the top bit has come away beautifully but the wax has stuck firmly to both sides, I'm assuming at this point the wax cooled down, hence now it is stuck fast, red, and very very angry. I've never had syphilis but I imagine this is what it looks like.
All visions of myself slinking around the pool on holiday next week have dissolved entirely, unlike this wax.
Things I have tried:
Scrubbing with a flannel
Soaking it with water as hot as j can stand in an attempt to melt it whilst scrubbing with an exfoliating cloth.
Oils of every variety.
The box says 'excess wax will wash away with warm soapy water' THIS IS NOT FUCKING TRUE!!
It's a complete mess and I'm all out of ideas, can you help?! I can go and purchase any suggestions but short of sanding it off I'm losing hope.
It's not sticky BTW it's sort of plasticated, and shiny, like a an exhibit in the Gunter von hagens travelling show. And red, very very red, and sort of raised.
I'll stop now.

Have you tried Bepanthen? Just with it being an ointment and oily it may help a bit more. Just a though

To be honest, I think a therapist might be out now. I wouldn't want to risk causing you any harm so I would refer you to a doctor.

Look up a mobile beauty therapist! That's what you need, surely one will help you.

Are you sure there is wax there or is it just the hair follicles irritated?

Oh dear!
No practical advice-but made me think of this

Can't believe we've had a 'something's stuck' thread and no one's suggested sex lube and a fish slice.

Well, if the OP can't get rid of the wax at least she'll have some cake to eat.

I die!

Ok, a full day of sudocrem appears to have reduced the redness, it is however, still plainly evident, still resembles mince but more Turkey than beef.....
I go on Wednesday so I shall continue the sudocrem until them .....I shall keep all interested parties up to do date!!

It looks VERY sore and angry but I couldn't see any wax? Confused I'll admit I dididn't zoom in and look in minute detail though. How is it now?

I must admit I had a little chuckle to myself lol.

OP, how are you? When are you going?

Right OP, I need to know..... how did you get on? Did anything work?!

callmeadoctor · 31/07/2016 21:15

If you can get somebody to call in at your local salon, they will have wax remover.

Report
accidentalpirate · 31/07/2016 21:02

Could you ring the manufacturer? They may have a solution. Failing that you might get a voucher for some free wax. Grin

I just came to say - sweet baby J

I have no idea, though sudocrem, like a whole bloody tub of it on, sounds good

Have you tried applying more wax? Then try and use a strip to remove it?

Report
Cantusethatname · 31/07/2016 20:12

Baby wipes.
Sorry I came late to this thread.

Baby wipes do it all - gloss paint, hair dye, home wax...

Ouch that looks sore! It's far too late for you but I just added more hot wax on top and cracked on with tearing it all off. Stung like buggery but I imagine no worse than the pain you're in now. Lol at WD40!

Agree. Just buy a different bikini. And then wait for the wax and/or hair to grow back. Then get a pro wax.

Why us girls can't leave our fannies alone, I'll never know. In a similar predicament, I used baby oil (still took about 6 hours . . . )

WD40? It does everything!

Sympathies OP, I would revert back to the coconut oil, maybe slightly warmed? And leave on for a few mins. Or buy a pack of wax strips that have those wipes for excess wax?

Well, I've never done cosmetic wax, but generally the excess part means small parts.

If it's like regular wax, it should chip away, (use of tweezers may be necessary), otherwise I would recommend :

  • Oil and cotton
  • Wash-up liquid (second to last resort) around the edge and rub into side with scrubby sponge
  • Old hot water bottle pressed on it
  • Last resort, touch it on a radiator now and again. Give it only enough time for a little to come off and avoid burning your leg. REALLY NOT RECOMMENDED if you can help it, especially considering it's your bikini line
