AIBU?

To be annoyed about this or just being pedantic?

I've name changed as I am a regular and dh knows my usual name.

Am I being really pedantic about this or am I right to be annoyed?

Dh took our cat to the vet, vet said cat was a little overweight asked what he was feeding it, instead of telling the vet food and amounts he lied and said he thinks someone else in the neighbourhood is feeding it too!

I asked him why he lied and he said he didn't want to get into trouble or look like an irresponsible owner. I am so annoyed because instead of being honest so the vet could give us information she just said speak to the neighbour.

Not only that but he had our teen dd with him and so she also knows he lied, he knows how I feel about lies and liars and how I tell dd that it's not ok to be untruthful and there he is barefaced lying to the vet!!

He's not normally like this I don't know what he was thinking, so AIBU to be pissed off with him or should I just let it go?

Cat has access to outside whenever she chooses, however she prefers to be inside only going out to do her business,

We actually have 2 cats she is much smaller than her brother yet at their checkup he wasn't overweight however he is out much more than her. Both healthy.

Apparently the vets has a pet fat club, which might help. Anyway I accept I was BU and will post in the litter tray for feeding advice.

I was surprised how little dry food a cat needs. It was only when I had to weigh all of FatCatSlim's food out into daily allowances that I realised how much he had been over fed.

if it's there, it will get eaten and if they are leaving food behind your portions are way too large

Not in my experience of cats.
My cats eat little and often, as did previous cats I've had. I've never seen any cat clear an appropriately sized bowl of food in one sitting tbh.

Only putting a bowl down twice a day and then removing leftovers (like you'd do with a dog) seems very strange to me. When mine first get fed in the morning, barely a third of the tin goes before they wander away to go outside, but the bowl is always empty by about 2pm.

Perfect weight cats btw, both checked recently.

FatCatSlim would clear a bowl.

However, SoupDoggyDogg will leave food when he's had enough

My cat has 1 pouch of wet food in the afternoon/evening with iams for breakfast, he also has access to his go-cat biscuits all day. He gets around 2 lots of 'treat' biscuits a day as well... But he's happy and healthy so that's main thing :)
