AIBU?

(Light hearted-ish) AIBU to hate Mister Maker?

He drives me up the wall with the over exaggerated, over enthusiastic actions and rushed crafts. I half expect him to turn up on screen with a trace of Columbian marching powder around his nostrils because he's that hyper.

I grew up in the days of Neil Buchanan and the late, great Tony Hart , and even as a child I prefer Tony's more sedate and considered arts and crafts because I thought Neil was too excitable. But he's nothing compared to Mister Maker's shouting, jumping, running and general (from my POV) acting like a toddler behaviour.

I also have a particular problem with "Mister Maker Around The World" from a BBC budget point of view - he's been to at least Hong Kong, South Africa, Sydney, San Francisco and Rio De Janeiro. It's a bloody children's art program FFS - smacks of BBC producers on a jolly to me.

AIBU?

I find that at times the comedy in Let's Play, is really good - comedy that adults can appreciate. I think Sid and Rebecca have great comic timing and Rebecca is spot on with her accents. I loved the Vikings episode.

Believe me when you are forced to endure My Little Pony or some other such rubbish on a loop you will beg for half an hour with Mr Maker and his doodle drawers Grin

Mister Maker's not that bad! Would prefer Mr Bloom and Sporticus personally. Oh wait....

I don't like Mister Maker for the simple reason that he sounds like Stephen Mulhern!

I saw this and thought you were talking about Shaker Maker.

Disclaimer: I am of an age.

I wonder if Kate's parents actually think 'FFS she's going on about that fucking Mimiloo place again'. Hmm

You know Mr Maker is Mr Liker Biker? YouTube proof: if you hate your ears.

I don't mind Mr Maker, but Kate and Mim Mim give me THE RAGE.

And why do Kate and Mim Mim have to shout continually? Don't they have indoor voices?

I can't work out if I hate that or Everything's Rosie is worse. Everything's Rosie just makes me want to vom.

Some of my students started singing "I am a shape" last week. Sadly they didn't push themselves to a detention as I was looking forwards to quoting that on the detention form.

It's amazing how useful an extensive knowledge of CBeebies is when with teenagers. It explains quite a lot...

Andy's Prehistoric Adventures is where it's at here.

Mister Maker is properly annoying and so are the Show Me Show Me people.

I know its not an appropriate and measured response but, whenever I see Mr Maker, I feel inclined to go on a paintgun rampage, with the express intention of doing him to death with a primary coloured pellet to the ear. After which I would probably slap some googly eyes on his lifeless corpse. And all that in less than a minute. I have some strong opinions about Bubble Guppies as well.

I was forced to watch an episode of ITNG whilst on holiday two years ago.
I thought I was having a reaction to some painkillers. I was not, it just really IS that freaky.
I agree with you op, Mister Maker does act like he's got a rolled up tenner in his pocket, doesn't he? Grin Thankfully my eldest didn't really enjoy the program that much and has since moved on, mostly to transformers and lego based programs and I can tolerate that.
Waybuloo appears to have been written by someone who likes a good spliff, Peter Rabbit is just plain weird and "Being an annoying whiney sod who makes you want to punch the tv - it's a Bing thing!"
Thankfully my toddler hasn't learned to use Netflix or iPlayer so I'm forcing him to watch the How To Train Your Dragon series. Love that!

Round the corner, not far away Bing has driven Flop loopy and he's totally lost his shit today Grin

I'd like to see an episode of Bing where Flop finally gets pushed over the edge and loses his shit.

And a Wooly (Woolly? Wookey?) and Tig where Woolly gets stamped on during his smug 'hey Tig!" speech.

Ah it's good to get that off my chest Grin

When I have nothing else planned, my DC and I watch Mr Maker and then make it, with a variation if necessary. Its usually a whole morning's or afternoon's activity especially if a trip to the local shop is required for something to make some piece of tat with. The tat then usually decorates for a week or two, and then goes the way of other tat in my house. Occasionally we've made something really good, but that's not common!!

Peter Rabbit makes my blood boil, he's so smug and full of himself and the music is terrible. Benjamin would have been eaten ages ago without the others to keep rescuing him.
DH has become slightly over invested in Tipsy and Tom as I call them, he watches it with DD while I'm making tea and then fills me in on what happened.
DD loves My Pet & Me, Mr Tumble and Andy's Dinosaur Adventure, which is my favourite!

You have to look at his eyes. Look at the desperation in them. Save me, he's saying.

It's ITNG I can't stick. I don't think my kids ever liked it but now they are 4, and sneaky, and because we live abroad and we're an hour ahead (so it comes on at like half 7) they pretend to be totally engrossed in it to put off going for their baths. And despite it being on every single night, there are only about 3 episodes I think. The first time I saw it being repeated I was nostalgic and felt sort of like I'd graduated as a mum. And then I saw it all repeated again. And again. And nowadays I'm nostalgic about when it used to make me feel nostalgic.
