I can't stand her anti English stance, but at least one political leader is doing something for the refugees...

She didn't seem all that bothered at the time though noiwont. All that came out of her and her govts mouth then were statements about how much confidence they had in Police Scotland. The only reason those 2 call centres are not being closed immediately is because she knows the public are very angry about the complete mess the SNP have made of policing in Scotland.

KidLorne exaggerate much?

Happily hundreds of thousands of Scots can't stand the SNP and their divisive agenda and made that clear last September.

Stripey to be fair it was announced yesterday that the closure if two 999 call centres was being halted while the M9 crash inquiry was going on.

I thought it was time for the bi-weekly bash the snp thread....

Downtown I am genuinely starting to wonder whether those hundreds of thousands are delusional.

DowntownFunk · 04/09/2015 12:23

I like her and think thank goodness for her. Hundreds of thousands of other Scots feel the same, happily.

SaucyJack · 04/09/2015 12:23

Cameron has also pledged to take "thousands".

They're both talking the talk right now.

SisterNancySinatra · 04/09/2015 12:23

Thank fuck? She's done fuck all, the fucker .

Funny how a picture of a dead child in another country results in politically expedient sound bites from her but 2 adults left to die in a car beside a motorway - meh, she's not so bothered.

YABVU if you think anything the odious woman says is for any other purpose than to further her agenda of dividing the UK.

Bishboshbash · 04/09/2015 12:19

SirChenjin has got it, the SNP can talk the talk but they never have any actual plans to back it up. I don't trust Nicola Sturgeon one bit.

Cinderella the SNP couldn't even tell us what currency we would use if independent, don't think we'll get any decent costing for how they plan to help.

Report
SirChenjin · 04/09/2015 12:16

Cinderella - none of the SNPs plans are costed or thought through. They don't work that way.

Report
CinderellaRockefeller · 04/09/2015 12:15

Really? What has she actually done, other than write a strongly worded letter about how we should "do more (of something)"

Has she accompanied it with well costed out plans of what we could do, how it could work in practice, potential ramifications? Brilliant solutions to solve the crisis which we can now look forward to rolling out throughout Europe?

I must have missed that in the updates today.

Report
SirChenjin · 04/09/2015 12:15

She's offered to take one thousand refugees (providing they actually want to come up here) and only at a very late stage. Hardly impressive.

Report
PacificDogwood · 04/09/2015 12:15

Of course she has an agenda.

She's a professional politician.

Married2Drogo · 04/09/2015 12:14

In answer to your question - yes - YABVVU.

Report
SouthWesterlyWinds · 04/09/2015 12:14

Call me a political cynic but if she really had been thinking of the refugee crisis before the pictures of poor 3yo Aylan, then she would have moved to say so months ago. It's a political agenda whilst also making her look good as a leader. Morally right, yes to take in refugees, however it just seems that there's an awful lot of politicians jumping on the bandwagon after the harrowing images of the last few days.

Report
HedgehogAtHome · 04/09/2015 12:13

She has an agenda..everything done for a reason.

I know! Most politicians act only in the interest of constituents and the country as a whole. It's almost weird seeing this woman going completely against the current tide of open, honest and accountable politicians that we currently have.

RhodaBull · 04/09/2015 12:13

It's easy to promise to take unlimited refugees when you know they'll all decamp after ten minutes in the outskirts of Dundee.

Report
PacificDogwood · 04/09/2015 12:12

I have no idea whether I'd like her or not. Seeing that I don't know her.

However, her stance on the refugees has been quite impressive.
Particularly when compared to that lot in Westminster Hmm

Report
SirChenjin · 04/09/2015 12:11

She's an odious woman who has done fuck all for this country, despite the rhetoric and soundbites. Just want to add that.

Has she actually done anything concrete, rather than simply (but more than reasonably) criticising Shiny Dave?

Well I like her, just want to add that.

You've obviously not been paying attention to the news.
