I must share loud conversation overheard on the bus today. Man gets on with his DS, maybe 12/13 yo.

Dad starts talking about some new 'research' he's been doing. He then said (as close to word for word as I can remember)
"I've been reading this book about the royal family. Apparently they are all reptiles that can change form. They feed on human flesh and blood which helps them keep human form. Far out right?"
His DS nods.
At this point I thought he was describing an interesting work of fiction. But no, he continued thus
"Thing is son, it's actually true. I've seen a newspaper report that has now been destroyed after a secrecy act has been passed. The queen is wanted by the Swiss government as they have evidence but it's all being hushed up. That's why they all live in remote castles and don't see the public much, so that no one sees their reptilian forms."

Now I know that people have some whacky conspiracy theories, but on a bus?? Shared with your young son and loud enough for all the other kids on the bus to hear (and be petrified!) Have any of you overheard weird and wonderful conversations while on public transport??

"The funny thing is I've read a lot of very sensible posts on the David Icke forums, in amongst all the peculiar stuff. I've a feeling that if you want to discuss certain controversial subjects, it's a safe-ish place where you're not going to get modded by site owners who fear lawsuits, because, frankly, who'd sue the David Icke forums for spreading rumours you're a sexual predator? People would laugh at you."

Yes, agree with you.

I occasionally read the David Icke Forum and while I personally don't believe the lizard theory, I have read some very thought provoking threads.

The DI forum posters tend to be anti-zionist rather than anti-Semitic.

I passed The Balmoral estate a few years ago and I'm positive it was Diana and Charles walking with William in a buggy. Unless of course they still dress up and walk upright when they become reptiles, I could have been mistaken of course.

You're half right too Chris Grin
The hard pad bit is at the front instead of teeth, but they do have molars on the top behind that.
Anyway, that woman was being totally unreasonable by
a) telling the kids sheep have no teeth and don't bite (they do, I have the scar to prove it)
And
b) feeding it custard creams when everyone knows that half lizard sheep much prefer a chocolate hobnob.

Is this why the Royal Family are secretly behind climate change? So their lizardy bodies will be more comfortable in the searing new world heat?

Have the Royal Family always been lizards? When did the lizard bit start?

I have a very distant royal ancestor.

Nope, still human Grin

Well, she was half right, Ipswitchwitch, sheep only have the bottom set of teeth. On top they have a hard pad instead because they are half lizard

I've been known to call the royal family 'blood sucking parasites'.

But at no point did I actually believe they morph into giant nits when out of the public eye Grin

Didn't any of the adults with the distressed children call him on it? I would have been tempted to say loudly "Don't worry darling, it's all a load of complete rubbish, and if the man believes it then he's a very silly man"

I used to be a teaching assistant. There was one child who really was of lower intelligence from a very chaotic home. He often used to spout all sorts of shite like this and how vampires were real etc. His dad used to tell him. Eventually the teacher asked his dad who said he just loved to 'wind him up' and he 'believed everything he said'.
No shit. He was 6. What hope did this poor boy have?
No sen issues with the child btw.

I think the relegation of custard creams to their rightful status as cattle-feed is the most encouraging sign for the future of society I have read in a while actually Kate

People come out with all manner of stupid shite, wether they're "only joking" or not.
Today I overheard a woman at the farm telling her grand kids that "it's alright to feed the sheep biscuits - don't worry they haven't got any teeth so they can't bite". As she's encouraging the DC to shove another custard cream in the sheep's mouth. They were obviously smarter than her as they looked very sceptical and point blank refused to shove their fingers anywhere near the blatantly toothy sheep's mouth.
