To do a degree. I don't have one, have always wanted one.
I'm 35, have 5 children currently working as a bank admin in the voluntary sector.

DH will be redundant in September so I thought it's the perfect time to think of ME for a change (not really, more of our future)

BUT? Is it to late for this year? My closest uni is Sheffield and I have left it too late to apply normally and would have to go through the clearing process.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

It's never too late. My mum completed her masters in her 50s.

I would look at the admissions requirements and think about what you will need to do to get a place.

Also look at the employability of the degree, its no use having a degree if its not wanted by employers.

Personally, I wouldn't do it this year as it seems a bit late and rushed. Take your time and think about what you really want to do, you may even need to do a course before you can apply. Then apply next year. My mum didn't go til she was 48 so you are definitely not too young.

I did mine at 36 and had a complete career change on the back of if. Go for it

Yes! Head of the school called and gave me some great advice on what to do (A levels) and a reading recomendation to get me started. He also asked me to keep him updated with how i progress with it all! I am so excited i am grinning at the fact it's all happening.

Go for it. Seriously. Students with a bit of life experience bring so much more with them and get so much more out of it.
