It's the most compelling drama I've watched on TV for ages (possibly since the last series).

Re Tommy, on the recording Akers had he intimated that Dryden had been bent or on the take for years and I think that there was something else he (Tommy) knew that 'the bastard' (Dryden) wouldn't want people to know - an interest in young girls maybe ? So that could explain why he would want him dead.
BUT Tommy never actually names Dryden in the recording, maybe it's someone else ? At this stage I don't think I'd even be surprised if Hastings was behind it all I'm so flippin' baffled !

I wondered if it was really Tommy.
Reason being that if they were all on the take, why would they want him dead?

More speculation while tea's in the oven. Either the ambush was a botched plan to spirit Tommy away and Akers was paid to make the call to the cops or Tommy paid her for her silence, substituting someone else in his place, but she found out something which scared her and genuinely rang to take her charge into protective custody, but her phone was hacked.

Sorry for all of this - no one to discuss it with at home at the mo!

Ditto to all of you.

It has been great.

I also agree that it's had some brilliantly shocking and surprising moments. Keeley Hawes is excellent

MILLY you got me thinking. What about the DNA thing as well? There is something to do with Carly's parentage in the mix. And was it really Tommy who died in hospital?

Carly either had a sexual encounter with Dryden the night of the speeding ticket, or it was set up to look like that ie the photos that were taken . She most likely was killed by the 2 bent coppers, but was it to keep herr quiet about the sexual abuse or just to frame Dryden ? If it is all Lyndsay, did she bribe those 2 to kill Carly, or because of Carly did she have the power to then bribe them to carry out the ambush ?

I thought Prasad and his side kick killed Carly? But why? Think she was killed same night as the incident with Dryden. Perhaps she is connected to Tommy and it was a message to him?

Not sure about what led Lindsay to the garage - it was where Akers' car got taken and the nurse's car and she started ringing round asking whether anyone matching Prasad's description had been working in garages as a mechanic.

It is the best thing on TV by a long chalk at the moment! Just brilliant!

Doh, I'd never heard of this until today and now it's everywhere! Sounds great too. Missed it :(

I think Denton has to be guilty. She was looking like a cat with the cream when the TV report came on referring to Dryden's arrest. I also have a nasty feeling she must have murdered Carly, I can't see who else it would be now that Dryden's out of the frame. Was it ever explained why she went to the place where it later turned out Carly was buried?

Oh I 've gone through stages of thinking everyone was responsible at different stages ! And Im not entirely sure at the minute whether the murder of the girl and the ambush were directly linked ie did the ambush happen as a direct result of her death or are they 2 more seperate though overlapping events. Absolutely riviting stuff, I came across it totally by accident the first episode of this series, didnt realise there was a previous one !

Another one here loving it!
And genuinely not knowing who is good, bad, evil ....

Does anyone know where Series 1 can be downloaded from?

I don't want to believe she's guilty. I want Drydan to have set her up.

Steve believes in her but I'm not convinced that Kate's not hiding something.

She has shown how smart she is though.

Mazzle, This is England 1990 starts filming later this year!

Couldn't get into Salamander, I found the main character really irritating.

Manish Prasad is the character LessMiss; he was Paul in Last Tango in Halifax, who had a fling with Gillian in the first series of that.

I'm also now thinking maybe Dryden abused her as a child and has never realised who she is as an adult? Would explain why she became a cop - wants to put bad people away.

Same here. The actor that plays Dryden is very good. And the actor that plays the cop who got squashed against the wall (Rashid?) is beautiful!

Its very violent though.

Okay - I think there is something in her past which has coloured her life. She said, 'People have underestimated me all my life' and I think it could be related to abuse in her childhood. We've seen her mother, there has been no mention of her father at all. Did she have the abortion when she found out Mike Dryden had a penchant for young girls? Did she then try to blackmail him, perhaps to leave his wife (even though she knew about him)? She is darker than she first seems.

Line of Duty as a title only made sense in the very last episode of the first series when Tony threw himself under a truck, asking Arnott to "tell them it was in the line of duty" before he did so, completely unexpectedly, so his family got his pension and DISB. In the first series, you thought he was a wrong 'un from the off - turned out he was more flawed as a human being than dodgy and Dot and Neil Morrissey's characters were far dodgier.

Come on mebo - what do you reckon?

It's hard to know what's relevant, isn't it?

Denton picking the route-did that matter if the other car was being tracked?

Her having an abortion-maybe she was OK with it?

It's great isn't it! I hadn't been watching it until a friend recommended it, then had a massive catch up online.

For those who want something else to watch when it's finished I can recommend Salamander, a 12 part Flemish political thriller series, on BBCiPlayer. Episode 1 is only available until 9:44PM on Saturday 22nd March though.

Oh PS, I reckon there is going to be a twist and she WILL have been the mole after all but Dryden will go down.

Optimist1, totally agree. It's like the wire for that, all shades of grey in the way characters are portrayed.
I am so excited about the last episode - new bloke over tomorrow though so will have to wait until thurs to watch it.
Any predictions?

I know! Would rather it was on every night for a week than having to wait a whole week for the next episode. I love Vicky McClure! Desperate for Shane Meadows to do another This is England spin off.

Haven't watched series 1 of Line of Duty. Will try to download it though. By the way, does anyone else think that this is a crap name for a series? Doesn't do it justice if you ask me.

Oh and I second the True Detective comment. Stunning television! Good enough for the big screen.
