How long do/did you dress your baby in baby gros during the day before it became unreasonable?

Ok I know it's not unreasonable I was just trying to fit it in the titled section that I have done!!

When shall I dress my 7 week old in proper day clothes?

My DC's stayed in babygros until about 8 months . Then they wore 'proper' clothes until they discovered onesies , and now we're back where we started . They're now 7, 9, 14, 16 and 18 .

My dd wore them until about 9 months,I bought gorgeous, outdoor ones that had matching bib and jackets from boots. he hated anything with a waist band so they were ideal for her.

My LO also didn't do onsies and footsie pj's after 3-6 months (he's 21 months now and will cry and take them off if you attempt to put trousers with feet on him). 12-18 babygrows just look odd haha just do socks so much easier

My LO was born in April and wore clothes in the day and baby grows in the night as they're pj's (imo) we don't go around in our pj's all day so why should he (was my mentality lol)

He never had any baby grows from around 6 months their comes a time when it doesn't look right (imo) and that was it

My nearly 11 month old dd is currently wearing a babygro and pretty much has one on when she is indoors, invariably with the feet tucked up or a footless one because she is standing and I've read barefoot is better for development.

Since she was about 10 weeks its been clothes when we go out, babygros indoors so she is comfy playing. I always think it is whatever you are comfortable with.

My 3 month old is very long, so 3-6month babygrows don't fit him already. Also, he's sick after every feed so it's easier to put him in t shirt and jeans/tracksuit bottoms and just change his top where necessary.
All the jeans he has a quite soft. I must admit, I love seeing him in dungarees most, they're unbelievablly cute. I'm making the most of it, because once he's mobile, he'll be dressed in whatever is the most long lasting.

My DC were dressed in day clothes from day 1. The clothes were soft cotton trousers and tops etc.
It is down to personal choice, though I think once they are crawling they need something thicker than a baby grow between the knee and the floor.

DS wore babygrows in the day until just over 1, when he started walking it was no longer practical. Sometimes trousers and jumper before then, but waist bands did look very uncomfortable on him. I think he's an odd shape though! Apart from the babygrows, anything with poppers between legs won't stay popped. Shame as I loved the dungaree style clothed we gad for DD but they just didn't work on him

Not only is anything with a waist band not as comfortable, but the band tends to get wound round with the top of a disposable nappy and, therefore, wet - really not very nice. So I would go with babygros for as long as possible, maybe in brighter colours for daywear. DS also had some jersey dungaree type oufits with feet to wear over a long sleeve top, which was quite good for a change.

I think anything with a waistband isn't comfy not just jeans. They are laying down half the day, with a nappy already around waist. It just seems another thing to make them uncomfy. The tops also ride up leaving gathered fabric

Actually the most ridiculous thing is cardigans with hoods! The hood is just in the way all day by neck or they have to sleep with it up.

Mine were mostly in baby gros for at least 6 months, and only really stopped once she was walking at 9/10 months.

I dressed my ds in jeans and proper clothes from the start. I have a picture of him in day 4-5 in tiny soft jeans.

I think people on here just act ridiculously on here about clothes for babies.

I have never met anyone in real life who dresses their child in a babygrow in the daytime for longer than three months.

And what's this jeans hurt the baby nonsense?! All the jeans we had for DD were lined with cotton and had soft waistbands no different to any other trousers or leggings.

DS2 (4 months) has some little pairs of jeans.

They're lined inside with soft fabric so are lovely and soft for his legs. And he has no problems moving his legs about in them.

Depends on the morning we are having. If all is going to plan then I've started putting outfits on her. If we are late getting DD1 out the house then she will just stay in her baby gro with a cardi over it. Dd2 is 6months. Boots do lovely footless baby gros which are nice for daywear.

I've got my twins dressed in 'proper' clothes every day since they were about a month old, mainly because when I had no clue what to do with them both it was an easy half an hour to have some nappy free time kicking on the bed while I got them both dressed. I don't believe in all the stuff about getting them to differentiate between night and day, it was just a way of taking up some time (and using all the presents we'd been bought).

A few months. I wish I'd kept dd in them longer. At the time all my friends were dressing theirs in outfits (at least when I saw them), and people gave us outfits as presents. Now looking back at the photos it looks a bit mad - a bit like Baby David on the Royal Family in tiny leather jackets. It wasn't that bad, just tees and leggings, but they are so small a babygro looks much better I think.
