I just did a Google search because my eight year old is totally addicted to stampy longnose, and I see other parents have the same issue!! She laughs out pour st him and all she wants to do is watch him. I agree about the grating laugh someone on here mentioned.

My daughter is 10 and watches Stampy and Squid every day catching up on all the uploads. I realise now that she is addicted saying stampy makes her happy. It was noted at school that her spark has gone and she has changed. I today told her that she is allowed only to watch one 20 min download a day and she became hysterical. Stampy and friends have become her world, I thought that as she was not actually playing she could not become addicted - how wrong I was. Be warned, it all seems really wholesome and stampy is fun and child friendly but my daughter has become isolated and withdrawn As she has entered the world of someone else.

The Love Garden is merely a spot where he puts up little notices on sticks with names of his fans and contributing children's artwork. Nothing sinister in it.
I play that crazy Diamond Song every evening. My dh adores Stampy Hula Hoop on Youtube. We've both taken to chanting "La la lalala! Loo loo loolooloo!"
He is such a nice lad. He was interviewed on The Breakfast Show (I think it was)
I could watch his videos all day. Ballistic Squid!! And all the lovely landscapes and constructions he's created virtually.
So nice to see a computer game that doesn't involve killing people with guns and obliterating them with lakes of blood like some of the more horrible efforts you see on sale.

Hi, I added to another thread yesterday on this subject.

My problem is not Stampy and friends rather than the 'other stuff' on YouTube that our DCs are only a couple of clicks away from.

So, I've built a couple of wordpress sites where I've aggregated the Stampy and Squid videos - allstampyvideos.com and alliballisticsquidvideos.com

Both sites have a lot of the YouTube content, which is updated daily but means your DC cannot watch videos of people being attacked by dogs (for instance).

My 7 year old daughters howls with laughter at him!

His voice is so annoying but he's harmless so I go along with it all Wink

Well!!! I'd never ever heard of Stampy until I began reading this thread. I've gone on Youtube and I'm absolutely enchanted!! It's fantastic!! The best one is the "Holes In my hula hoop" The man is brilliant! I do feel he owes a lot to Mr Punch - the repetition of the same phrase, the voice which sounds a bit like the 'swozzle' that Punch and Judy exponents use, and his confrontational character. I'm now going to look for more on Youtube. I'm definitely hooked.
(I'm 70, so perhaps I'm getting dementia.)
Thank you so much for introducing this to me.

His voice does drive me a bit loopy. Kids love him. Big YES to headphones!
I think the kids are loopy to sit and watch somsome else play a game? Then I suppose it's the Minecraft equivalent of Gogglebox?

'He needs garrotting'
'I wish him harm'

You do realise this is an actual person you are talking about, a person who has done nothing more than be entertaining? How would you feel if your username popped up with the same comments? Hmm

I ordered back in October with no problems. I think things took just over a week to arrive

Just to add a comment about his shop - I ordered some things earlier in the year and they all came on time and just as I ordered.

Ugh, pork swords and love gardens are a million miles away from pigs being a big thing on Minecraft. Confused

I keep thinking he sounds like Chris Evans, it's like being transported back to his breakfast show days, flash backs of teenage school traumas :/

I would like to warn people about the shop that is affiliated with this stampy character. My daughter is obsessed with minecraft and in particular with stampy longnose or long head. I decided to buy some of the merchandise from the shop that he advertised on his facebook page. I ordered on 23rd November in plenty of time and before the date on the website for a christmas delivery, they took my money the same day. I haven't received any of the items ordered and can't seem to get them to refund my money, I fear I have been scammed and it seems I am not the only one going by all the comments on his facebook page! Please be aware that this company will take your hard earned cash but won't deliver the goods. I wish I had read all the comments before rushing to buy something I knew my daughter would love. So many kids out there love this character and I know it's not his fault but he doesn't seem to answer when you try to ask him if he is aware either. Maybe I'm a fool for trusting someone/something so highly liked by thousands to send the goods I paid for! Please be careful people.x

We queued for over an hour to meet Stampy/Squid/TDM at a game con. They were really sweet with the kids and seemed genuinely amazed at the adulation. The children were completely overwhelmed and it was the best day of their lives apparently Blush

Stampy is annoying, whereas Zach Scott going through Super Mario and Plants versus Zombies was quite endearing, especially all the words he used instead of swearing.
Anything is better than Hello Kitty or the ads on Milkshake, though. Wouldn't mind Peppa Bloody Pig so much if it didn't have ads that dd can't get past.

Get Google account set up for child I know it's not strictly allowed but here's why - if they have a Google account you can see what they have watched on youtube, you can lock the Family safe settig in youtube (don't tell'em the Google account password), you can even subscribe them to channels you do like ( Dangermouse a fave here) and put a watch list for them. You can see everything they watch on whatever devices they use it on. I'd rather that than have him on my youtube as it gets mixed up with my watching and work research watching etc.

I will dig up a blog link later explaining it because I find it really useful with DS. I also have his laptop properly set up with Microsoft Family safety settings so I can control how long he uses it, and also have curfews set up (eg: not before 8am).

If he wants extra I have to sign In and give permission.

I have reluctantly let him watch Diamond Minecart but I don't trust him as much as Stampy.

Stampy seems nice in real life and his girlfriend is on se of his videos now too (she's a youtuber independently too I think)

Hatzran -

Pigs are a big thing on Minecraft. There are lots of references to pugs, pork & porkchops. Pigs are cute & desirable to have in your Minecraft world.

Stampy is now a public persona, he has been interviewed on TV on many occasions & regularly attends large public gaming events.

Bear in mind that in older youtube videos Stampy DOES swear. A lot. He then caught on to the fact that his audience was aged about 7 and stopped . But I've twice heard 'fuck' coming from my 8 year olds ipad when he's watching Stampy. And leapt on said ipad immediately!

I don't mind stampy as long as I don't have to hear him!

Just wish there was a way of watching gaming videos, not just stampy somewhere other than YouTube. I always feel he's 2 clicks away from something inappropriate
