It's only a couple of months ago that we had a thread on here asking who your gay best friend would be. I protested and was a lone voice! in fact I got told to "shut up" "lighten up" and "F off" by various posters who honestly could not see that they were offensive.

That has to be one of the world's most offensive asterisks.

It's an astonishingly stupid product and Tesco are knobheads for allowing suppliers to upload shit willy nilly. People assume, quite reasonably, that stuff for sale on their website has been sourced by Tesco buyers. If it was Amazon or Ebay we were talking about and they'd removed the product from sale as soon as they were informed, objections would be levelled at the seller, not the site.

Tesco, Amazon, and Play.com all run very similar operations where they have absolutely mahoosive databases of products, which Tesco/Amazon/Play do not actually sell, touch or handle, they just act as a directory for smaller companies to sell and advertise their products.

They all import blurb from numerous different sources and the third party retailers can tell Tesco's computers when they have a product to sell. No human involvement. Tesco spent £££££ on IT with the result that they can use their brand name and successful website to take 10% (or whatever it is) off third-party sales made via their website.
