Her latest 'effort'
www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2424643/I-know-little-girls-young-school-I-need-bit-time-says-SHONA-SIBARY.html

It is NOT about the fact her 4 year old has started school, if I had had an August baby I would have probably sent them to school too. It's her smug writing - and the fact that in an earlier article she spoke about giving her kids medication when they go on a plane to knock them out.

Really don't like the way she writes about things.

And now she’s gone with him and left the older three at home.

Good on the two girls for standing up to her and refusing to move. And her husband has packed up and gone to Dubai. You reap what you sow.

I mean she buys puppies and gives them away once they are bigger.

Yanbu.
I seem to recall her buying then giving away dogs too?

The article she wrote about moving to and then leaving the West country was hilarious. I think one of her older children refused to move back with her. There's literally no aspect of family life that woman won't offer up for a few shillings.

Apologies for reviving a ghost thread. Just spotted an article about her moving back to Surrey. So did she really hate Devon, or was that made up too?

I didn't know who she was so looked her up.....I went to primary school with her! Before she went off to the convent school. Dreadful articles.

Her article about how she allowed her 13 year old to get drunk and jump off a trampoline, breaking her collarbone, and her teenage boy (young, 14?) to smoke shisha which he gave to their 4 year old and he put the video on Youtube, frankly gave me the creeps. I mean, literally, it quite upset me and it was published in August and I was thinking about it just this morning, and now again just seeing her name.

It's either exaggerated, which is harmful as I don't think it's on to pretend such behaviour is just the hijinks of youth, or it's true, and she should keep it to herself in shame.

Shona Sibrary, Liz Jones and Samantha Brick - an unholy DM trio!

Can't stand her, and her daughter's article is considerably better than any of her drivel.

squoosh
I'm sure she pitches it herself, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of these 'writers' offering themselves up on a plate. It seems as though no aspect of family life is out of bounds and for every one that gets published she probably offers two that are rejected

I read an article online about this. As paid writing work becomes more competitive, there is more and more of this. The initial brief often doesn't resemble the finished article. Once the writer has submitted it, it will come back with "oh, focus more on this bit, take that bit out"all with tha aim of getting these click bait pieces that no-one sane would willingly come up with and as the writer has already given up a fair bit of time (as yet unpaid) they will do what they are told.

Some interesting blog links in this article - particularly Anna Blundy. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/apr/04/samantha-brick-thrown-to-wolves

I think she is a desperately sad woman, bitter and twisted. Can't feel sorry for her though because of how she treats her children.

florenceflo · 29/09/2014 21:29

she contradicts everything she says - apparently she's renting a property but yet she owns a house and cuts pictures out of a brochure saying she's had lots of guest around all summer ? what i know her husband only married her for the shake of her being preggers but come oh by the easy her own very words - id rather mom then have sex with my husband - amazingly sad person

Well done. There is the odd one that I wonder how the writer got it past the editors. The MoS is a tiny tad less bigoted than the DM.

I did actually feel quite good about writing about the situation of young people with learning disabilities who have nowhere to move on to at 18+. Like I say, it was a remarkably liberal-lefty piece!

Grin

I sneaked it in...

motherinferior you might not be as rich but do you feel better about yourself when you are not writing for them ? :o

She's prostituting her children and her family - earning money on the back of their characters, problems, wants and needs.

I think she is truly awful and I feel so sorry for her poor children.

Ok, just read that she slaps her daughter. Nice. I take it all back about enjoying her stupid articles. She can fuck RIGHT OFF. Stupid bitch.

Report
Pawprint · 25/09/2013 16:07

She writes to get attention but then isn't that why people write for rags like the DM anyway? And the money, of course.

I've read some of her articles and have enjoyed one or two. The rest I have found either totally egocentric or just a bit dull. I'm not really interested in her family or what they are up to.

Now, however, I'm returning to a feature that is a rather more usual rate...
