To ask what you mums who work part time do for a job?

I've been a secretary for a company for nearly ten years now and work 16 hours per week since my maternity leave ended.

The company are moving 15 miles away down the busiest stretch of motorway for miles around so I've started to look for something else

I've sent about 80 cv's and covering letters out but I'm struggling to find part time secretarial work so I think I may have to start looking for something else

Just looking for ideas? This has been my only full time job as I'm 28 so apart from a shop I can't think of anything - not that I'm adverse to working in a shop!

Childminder - I work 8-5pm 4 days a week but obviously don't have to worry about childcare. I'd love to drop down to 3 days a week &/or term time only as it does impact on my own DC

Admin role in a management consultancy on a 60% programme. Was a full time PA (EA) before maternity then went back as a 60% "Float" (ie, employed temp) once had DD. Did that for 2 years then was offered the admin role but only took it on the basis that it would also be 60%. Was 3 full days before DD started school but since she has been at school I now spread the time over 5 days during school hours with at least 3 days working from home.

I work in business development, 3 days a week. I was very lucky to be offered p/t when I came back from mat leave.

Another Parish Clerk here, working a few hours a week from home. I'm hoping to get another job (in addition to this one) at some point in the next year or so and have thought of looking at church administrator vacancies (probably few and far between and often just a few hours a week, but you at least get to meet other people...). Interesting to read about university posts - will start investigating those as well.

I work 20 hours a week in childcare. Very low wages but hopefully it will help with my qualifications! Even if it doesn't I'm loving it.

I love the work as opposed to my old job, in a large corporate setting for so many, long, wasted years!

Police officer. I average 20 hours a week but I have to do shifts so it changes weekly.
Not to be recommended as I can't just walk out at the end of a shift even when I have to pick up the kids so I always have to have someone on standby

I advocate for children in child protection proceedings and for children who are unhappy with the decisions being made by social workers etc. I work from home but the hours are 'as and when' so sometimes need childcare at short notice to go to conferences and i don't have a routine. I love it but hope to be able to work a basic 18 1/2 hours over 2 or three days in the future doing something similar but with colleagues and an office to go to!

I have been offered a share of a gift shop too and am quite tempted to give that a go!

I am newly employed after 20+ years as a sahm,

I am a PA for my dh, (have been doing it free of charge all this time), a company director of a Ltd company and soon to be Landlord.
Don't earn much, but enough to pay tax when I find a tenant. {yay}
